Luckitty Posted February 19 Posted February 19 It's disgusting that artists who have multiple sources of income are stealing money from songwriters who barely make any money, it should be illegal 6 1

Because of that, Stevie was properly credited, and received 50% of Bootylicious’ publishing rights. Interesting how they always “forget/ignore” this part of the interview Interesting. Why did you leave this little bit out, @BeenThereDoneThat? Edited February 19 by QueenBLadyG 2

Big Bad Wolf Posted February 19 Posted February 19 The meltdowns in here! Y'all are losing it Listen, it's not Beyonce's fault, but you can't really blame this girl for singling her out. Beyonce's ethics when it comes to her recording process has always been in the gutter. Yes, same for Rihanna. But it's not comparable when you have Beyonce and Jay-Z crying over awards and Beyonce in songs talking about being overworked . Meanwhile, these songwriters just have to smile, nod, and eat ****. I mean look at the credits on Renaissance, damn and she's eating majority of the pie? That's INSANE! Songwriters really need to STRIKE like yesterday. 1

Chris Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Just now, GraceRandolph said: She’s the lead artist. But not the songwriter or producer.
heartlocket Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Just now, GraceRandolph said: She’s the lead artist. That’s not how it works. Kelis doesn’t own the publishing or masters to the track. Therefore legally she can’t have a say in signing off the use of the song. Beyoncé and her team cleared the sample with whoever owns the publishing to the song. In fact, Beyoncé didn’t even have to credit Kelis but did it out of goodwill. 2
Dreajae Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Not yall saying yall understand this loser ass ******* grievances. She's never worked with Bey and has chosen to run her mouth for a second time about Beys era. She needs to worry about publishing for the flop songs she's credited for. Yall are really sick and truly angry that a ***** like Bey ain't over after talking so much crap during the 4, EIL and The Gift days. Move on. 1 1 2
Dreajae Posted February 20 Posted February 20 1 hour ago, BeenThereDoneThat said: What about the writer/producer Stefan Fusari, who said he was sitting at home watching an interview where Beyonce claimed she wrote Bootylicious. When he called Matthew to complain, Matthew basically said “Oh well, that’s how the industry works” Imagine thinking an alleged grapist wrote a song about a black woman's ass and curves during the early 2000s supermodel era.
heartlocket Posted February 20 Posted February 20 1000% agree with the main sentiment of the video but she lost me with that odd pointed ending (she knows what she’s doing with the Taylor mention..) and veering off into what’s evidently a selective attack towards one act. holding one individual accountable for the actions of a whole industry is odd and is understandably the reason why a lot of people (fans and haters alike) aren’t focusing on the main point. 1 1
Dreajae Posted February 20 Posted February 20 1 hour ago, BeenThereDoneThat said: She’s not going to name names, because the songwriters who complained to her, signed NDAs with Beyonce. She doesn’t want to get them in legal trouble. Why would they complain to her flop ass? Please. Yall believe any damn body and its pathetic. 1

And reason was because she chose to not work under those fraudulent conditions as all the other writers who just put up with being exploited so they can say they’ve worked with her. Beyonce is a BILLIONAIRE and her song writers are all broke af.
