Listen, it's not Beyonce's fault, but you can't really blame this girl for singling her out. Beyonce's ethics when it comes to her recording process has always been in the gutter. Yes, same for Rihanna. But it's not comparable when you have Beyonce and Jay-Z crying over awards and Beyonce in songs talking about being overworked . Meanwhile, these songwriters just have to smile, nod, and eat ****. I mean look at the credits on Renaissance, damn and she's eating majority of the pie? That's INSANE!

That’s not how it works. Kelis doesn’t own the publishing or masters to the track. Therefore legally she can’t have a say in signing off the use of the song. Beyoncé and her team cleared the sample with whoever owns the publishing to the song. In fact, Beyoncé didn’t even have to credit Kelis but did it out of goodwill.

1000% agree with the main sentiment of the video but she lost me with that odd pointed ending (she knows what she’s doing with the Taylor mention..) and veering off into what’s evidently a selective attack towards one act. 
 

holding one individual accountable for the actions of a whole industry is odd and is understandably the reason why a lot of people (fans and haters alike) aren’t focusing on the main point.

She doesn’t have to. And reason was because she chose to not work under those fraudulent conditions as all the other writers who just put up with being exploited so they can say they’ve worked with her.
