It's like yall didn't read that I said "viral song" and "loved by fans" Ofc the song isn't carried by playlist reach alone but acting like that's not part of the reason why it's so big, is delusional
Peak Now Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Starting to think if Blinding Lights was sung by someone ATRL cared about y'all would've been whining about autoplay and playlisting every other day

Dante Silva Posted February 19 Posted February 19 (edited) I guess its success is symptomatic of her imperial phase. The GP really do want to send her a message with this track that they want a definitive return to her ‘Pop’ sound and that even the “Midnights” album does not quite cut it. Midnights was pop but frankly it was half assed pop with hints of being alternative. Cruel Summer is like her most recent blatantly pop pop type of track. A 1989 2.0 would be something the GP would gladly embrace from her. A summer album of sorts (not like Lover) 1
babycomeround Posted February 19 Posted February 19 I'm really not a Taylor fan but even I can admit it's a great song. Pop perfection. I can't believe it wasn't a single during the Lover era. Would've been a great lead but that's irrelevant now as it smashed on it's own accord.
Feanor Posted February 19 Posted February 19 (edited) It's kind of the defining Taylor hit of this 2023-23 Taymania-era, it's shaping up to becoming her biggest hit ever at this point. Edited February 19 by Feanor 1
torontowest91 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 i hope it goes number 1 again she should release just the cruel summer performance on youtube as the "music video"!
UnusualBoy Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Its longevity is insane but can’t complain, it’s pop perfection.

Zefierce Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Because its a Legendary Iconic CLASSIC of our current times. We are BLESSED to be alive to experience this song in its prime, just wow.
Life Savers Posted February 20 Posted February 20 It's the Taymania single. It'll stay a hit through Eras tour.
Raphy23 Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Must be summer in Australia and Japan and the other Asian countries.
