Did they give her the cutting-room floor scraps from others or something? This is a pop emergency.
shimind Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Hopefully she finally quits music for real and focuses on her acting career only. She can still make bank with her acting career and make up stuff 1

Sis this is soundtrack to a streaming-only film on Amazon Prime 1 - The album is essentially extra promotion for the movie. What JLo really needs is the movie to be a success 2 - The whole project (movie/soundtrack/documentary) is also an excuse for her to tour and that (touring) is where she will get money eventually 1 1
Dula Peep Posted February 20 Posted February 20 that’s ok, we found someone much younger to take her place…and her name is Ca— Spoiler 1

It's not even presented as a soundtrack compilation, it's exactly a studio release. 2) Having a tour does not justify the success or failure of an album. Katy Perry was buried alive with the failure of Witness, although the tour and the deal for American Idol (which has no connection with the album) were very profitable. 1 3 2
dumbsparce Posted February 20 Posted February 20 (edited) 670k people listening to new JLo music in 2024 is not bad at all if you put things into perspective. I did not just see Merier Care making her rounds in this thread LJo better watch her back Edited February 20 by dumbsparce 2

Well the failure of Witness and This is Me Now are not on the same level. Witness still received certifications from several countries. This JLo album won’t get any certification at all. 1

I did not just see Merier Care making her rounds in this thread LJo better watch her back It's not 670K people... It's realistically around 2-300K people streaming the album, some all the way through, some 1-2 songs.

Taylor Swift doesn't sell her album to 1.5 million individuals on debut week either. Edited February 20 by dumbsparce 1

Anticipating Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 The album is projected to miss the Top 20 in the US, per HDD: 1

Cbreezy Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I am so baffled...is she really selling **nothing** with the pre-orders? So many covers, variants etc? I knew the streaming would be nothingness, but I'd have "at least" imagined she'd scrape top 10/20 based on physicals. Given how many months on pre-sale they've had (2-3 solid months), surely that's enough time and enough versions? Maybe I'm being delulu, but could it be a case of what happened with Usher? HDD had him at 78k and he ended up doing 91k with no spectacular streaming spikes for the songs. Which highlights perhaps the possibility of some of the physical units not being counted/factored in at the time of predictions. I'll gladly eat humble pie if the floppage is the floppage, but something feels...missing.
