Ron Ng Posted February 17 Posted February 17 21 years into her solo career, she scored a SOLO smash which is difficult to get, not everybody has that since 2011. Are you shocked at this? How could she always make the GP obsessed with her music? WW: 5 1 TEXAS HOLD 'EM Beyoncé 4,484,105 US: 2 – TEXAS HOLD 'EM Beyoncé 2,002,864 UK: 2 1 TEXAS HOLD 'EM Beyoncé 424,019 2 1
Nightingale Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Not only that but it's with a country song. She's always had the power. She just didn't care to properly release her music. Formation could have been so much bigger on the charts
benyonce Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Bey always finds success, whether it be moderate to big, when she doesn't limit or sabotage herself and that is what we are seeing right now. I will say, don't count your chickens before they hatch. It is only day 5, it could drop off, even if it does seem promising at this stage. 1

Funnyfatty Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I was not prepared for beyonce seeing success indeed
VioletsandRoses Posted February 17 Posted February 17 It’s an anglosphere smash so far, but no where near If I Were A Boy, Halo or Crazy In Love globally. It’s doing amazing for someone 27 years in their career but let’s not act like she didn’t debut it in the biggest promo spot ever. 2
Gladiator Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I'm excited for that. I love the songs. Kind of surprised 16 Carriages isn't the one that took off like that though.
Wonderland Posted February 17 Posted February 17 (edited) I mean she's always had the power to do this despite what her detractors say. For the best part of the last decade she has just had a general disinterest in true chart performance (surprise releases on funny days with no follow-up promo strategy/video, embracing sounds that didn't necessarily fit the current popular music landscape) and despite all of this, her chart performances have still been pretty decent. This is probably her first record in a while to align with what's popular at the moment. And not only is it on-trend, it's objectively a very good and well constructed country song. It is trending upwards GLOBALLY at a rapid pace, even if the placements aren’t high yet in France, Germany, Japan etc
PrettyHurts Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Very surprising from the 98-out songstress. I was told she was over many times 2

Mr. Mendes Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I'm not really surprised no. It's always been quite apparent Beyonce had hit potential and the potential to succeed on streaming, she just has spent the last decade setting herself up for failure in that department. Renaissance Act I was her first proper stab at doing a streaming era release the way it needed to be done to yield positive results, and it worked. Hopefully she's done with all the games, Tidal exclusives, etc and keeps fulfilling the potential that was always there.

Ok. Oh trust we Hive take it as a compliment that Ariana, who very much is at the age of where she should reach her peak + is an absolut streaming monster, is being compared to streaming-poison, old hag Bey. Also yes and is as pop and gay as it gets, and as Ariana-signature sound as it gets, whereas Texas is a complete image change. So the risk is also being rewarded in the conversation
lonnie Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Given how the song sounds, quite frankly yes I'm surprised that it's doing as well as it is.
PrudenceHCharmed Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I'm surprised considering she hasn't had a hit since Bush was in the office. 1

Ok. Ma’am, Beyonce is nearly 30 years into her career. Ariana is barely even 30…. 1
Titanbaddie Posted February 17 Posted February 17 (edited) ‘TEXAS HOLD ‘EM’ by Beyoncé reaches a new peak of #3 on Global Spotify with 5.73 million streams. Well well well... Edited February 17 by Titanbaddie 1
Kristie Kuwa Posted February 17 Posted February 17 This is the craziest week ive experienced in Beyonces career since ST dropped. I still havent picked up my jaw from the floor. Like, THE beyonce, known for her choreo, for her fierceness, for RnB classics such as Crazy in Love or Love On Top, recently presenting herself as the ballroom Diva and having success with it, SMASHING with a COUNTRY (!!!!) song GLOBALLY. Like what? 1
