She-Rah Posted February 17 Posted February 17 (edited) The best female selling artist in history (madonna) and the only artist who actually has a shot at overtaking her (so many pop stars have been called “the next Madonna” but Taylor actually has a shot) was this an underrated pop moment ? Jump Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Yes. This did not get as much attention as it deserved. Maybe if it was performed at a higher profile event
Dante Silva Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Yes. The same thing occurred to me recently. I predict the performance footage will be wheeled out in separate documentaries that reflect back on their separate careers in decades to come.

Yes, hopefully they're able to have a moment like that the next time Taylor wins AOTY. We need a proper 'passing of the crown' moment in front of the word. 1

I think younger people are discovering Madonna and appreciating her more now and Taylor is the current big pop start they should definitely perform together again

She’s a Leo who loves being in control and The center of attention. But I dont agree that she used Taylor as a prop. She wanted to showcase Taylor’s guitar skills. Edited February 17 by She-Rah
Achilles. Posted February 17 Posted February 17 This was for me specifically. My fave, the queen, that song. I’ll never forget it. I’ll also never forget Madonna calling Taylor her favorite guitarist and then not being able to name any of her songs. Followed by the thread “if you could ask Madonna anything…” in which Vin said he’d ask her to name just one Taylor Swift song.
ArtForFreedom Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Madonna is so little compared to her OT- It was a good performance but Madonna has better vocal performances of Ghosttown

Both were also serving MPG level stage presence, especially towards the end
Oktober Knight Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Very underrated, it's a shame they wasted it on such a low end ceremony. Should have been The Grammys or Billboard Awards.

Dante Silva Posted July 21 Posted July 21 I've been thinking about this lately and I think that video will very slowly come in to its own as the decades pass and someone one day makes a documentary on Taylor when she's 60 or so. It's a video that is going to increase in relevance with the passage of time. I read somewhere she used to watch closely to VH1 specials when she was very young so when that pivotal documentary appears, many years in the future it will be a real full circle moment.
