The only reason she didn't chart well was because in the early 2000's the Hot 100 formula consisted of mainly radio airplay... which she didn't have because she was blackballed from Clear Channel stations. 1

Jeremiah Posted February 17 Posted February 17 2 hours ago, Shimenawa said: Do we know why they replaced Britney with Xtina? They didn’t like her demo? According to Dorian Moore (the producer, and it's his quote the one the interviewer from the video asks Nelly about), Britney's label thought the song was "too urban". Janet and Christina were runner-up options. 2

BraveNewSeth Posted February 17 Posted February 17 2 hours ago, Shimenawa said: Do we know why they replaced Britney with Xtina? They didn’t like her demo? I don’t think Britney was ever really replaced, if that makes sense. If what Nelly said is true, it seems like he wrote that song for Britney to record for ITZ but she never used it. So he took it back and got Xtina to record it instead. Britney wasn’t replaced because Nelly intended it to be a solo song for her, and if he was going to release it he wanted Xtina on it to begin with, not Britney.
