sweetblindness Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I'm not a prude by any means but something about the promotion for this album just grosses me out. It feels so superficial and tryhard. Provocative but without the amazing music backing up the "controversy". 2 1 1

Therefore hatred towards them that is a projection of general societal inequality cannot be criticised!’ That’s not the fact at hand, what is is the slippery slope-fallacy of you calling someone a womanhater based on their feelings regarding a woman who has actively made fun of antoher woman who suffered sexual abuse and harassment and constantly tried to disprove her throughout social media and who continues to work with said abuser. Provocative but without the amazing music backing up the "controversy". not too mention she literally attacked kesha indirectly to support dr luke (a sexual abuser and harasser). kim petras has ZERO moral values to discuss sexuality and sex positivity (not to mention sexual positivity doesn’t equate with just sexual liberty/freedom) the absolute hypocrisy of her stans actively trying to pin the criticism she receives as being misogyny and pearl clutching it is baffling and severely disrespectful and while we are at it, people who do sex work suffer extensively in many ways because of it and in ways kim petras doesn’t because she’s just putting on a fake superficial persona for the sake of making fun and profiting (while in hand having a sexual abuser also profiting) Edited February 17 by SupremeGoddess 5

Their feelings regarding her output and that she should apparently go into sexwork for it, as not a single word of criticism about her ties to Dr Luke were uttered by that member (which I would’ve never disputed)

I actually for the most part always agree with a lot of what you say and we lean towards similar causes and issues, you’re a member I respect but this issue we just won’t see eye to eye, which in the grand scheme of things is fine Edited February 17 by SupremeGoddess

I know Kim is not a good person but I just found a (gay) man policing a woman’s behavior/sexuality/body disgusting. But I totally get people not wanting to use her as a good example to call that behavior out cause… yeah 2
dumbsparce Posted February 17 Posted February 17 The way her career has been handled is so unfortunate. Her becoming a mainstream darling that's 24/7 on the radio is never gonna happen if it hasn't already by now. And it's not like she's an lgbt darling either. Allowing her to be as sexual as she wants to be thus crafting a very specific brand would have at least garnered her a following. I'm so mad she hasn't honed in on the incredible universe she created with her Halloween projects. 2

Vixen Eyes Posted February 17 Posted February 17 pretty much literal porn lol could have debut it on ****hub

If you’re a popstar it means you can do whatever the **** you want because people trust in you enough that you get paid (lavishly) to execute your vision I can’t believe I’m going to ride for Kim Petras but here we go. Kim actually trying something new (for puritan hypocritical Americans I guess, because in Europe we actually have female artists breaking boundaries on sexuality like this) is more useful for society than lame cookie cutter lanelpuppet #3858383 trying to be marketable. Her reaching an audience that isn’t looking for this content will actually get the needle going. Whatever you think a popstar is ‘supposed’ to be is none of the business of the people actually being popstars and doing what they like You’re a puritan womanhater for telling women to do porn if they dare be ‘too vulgar’ in their art in your opinion, even though I know you love to see yourself as a ‘respectable’ centrist Trash. People like you are so small-minded, so devoid of any actual thinking, so desperate to be seen as being on the right side, or as not being a prude, that you will praise whatever garbage is thrown in your face, no matter how artistically empty or creatively useless, as long as you can dress it up in language about breaking boundaries. It’s telling that your entire rant hinges upon another poster being “puritanical” or “conservative” or “centrist”. Do you even have any thoughts outside of those frameworks? Can your brain function in the absence of pre-packaged ‘political’ categories? Even when it comes to something as ultimately meaningless as a degenerate cover by Kim Petras, you are unable to default to anything outside of the cliches and buzzwords of the terminally online. It's a surprise you didn't find a way to mention Donald Trump or Brexit. Please, touch some grass. 3 5

PixelStick Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Ok she is quite devoid of any artistry, but why are some you homos acting like this is too much It’s serving for me, if only the music was better but that’s not the topic. 2
Trent W Posted February 17 Posted February 17 2 hours ago, Cain said: Cause you’re telling a woman to go do porn? Because of the art she puts out? That’s disgusting behavior for a man and far too radical of a reaction for something as small as an unused album cover But nice ‘i’m such a respectable moderate by calling other people too emotional’ trope I’m not telling her to do porn, she already did it with the cover I just said that if she wants to put out this “artistic content” onlyfans or ****hub are a better platform The average music listener doesn’t want that type of content, that’s why the label canceled that cover
Josh Posted February 17 Posted February 17 If this had been the cover of Rihanna's new album y'all would have been calling her Queen of Pop and gagging 2 1
