wish Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Miley - Endless Summer Ariana - Eternal Sunshine Flowers - disco track about publicized relationship drama Yes, And - house track about publicized relationship drama Flowers - January 12 Yes, And - January 12 Endless Summer Vacation - March 10 Eternal Sunshine - March 8 Flowers - #1 debut Yes And - inorganically pushed to a #1 debut ESV - only one single before album ES - only one single before album Flowers - no promo or performances Yes, And - no promo or performances Miley: receives Grammy from Mariah Carey, shares iconic moment with Mariah on stage Ariana, two weeks later: It's important to note Ariana's well-documented history of theft and unoriginality. With Ariana's "ES" being suspiciously similar to Miley's "ESV" album title, rollout, singles concepts, and celebrity associations... Is Ariana copying Miley's every move in a (failed) attempt to win back the public and have her own "Flowers"? Discuss and keep it cute! 1 16 4
Doogle Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Well I wish her luck on serving anything on the level of Violet Chemistry. But yes maybe they tried a similar approach… not sure why though since ESV didn’t do anything after Flowers lmao 3
Aaron Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Yeah, I think Ariana was expecting to swoop in at the beginning of the year and steal the spotlight the way Miley did last year 4
KatyPrismSpirit Posted February 16 Posted February 16 why would she want to copy 110k first week sales 1
Selegend Posted February 16 Posted February 16 (edited) i think she did want to dominate right on the beggining of the year like miley did with flowers the year before but miley pretty much could've done a droplet era instead of ESV and her 2023/24 would be almost the same, including her grammy moment. so i'm not sure about the whole thing ariana did want to receive her flowers tho... lol Edited February 16 by Selegend
MALAMENTE Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Don't think so but the coincidences are surprising if anything!
SweetOreosOfHeaven Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Yeah "Yes, And?" at least was obviously an attempt to have a "Flowers" moment. No doubt about it. I'm sure they want an album that performs better than ESV though, as that would be a major underperformance for Ari. I find the choice to not release more singles very puzzling, to say the least, considering how the lead is nosediving. 1
ariananext Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Ariana has never had an album as unsuccessful as ESV since 2013

The only similarity is they were released around the same time (a window where Ariana has released beforee; see '7 rings'). 1 1 3

Slate Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Why would anyone wanna copy that era outside of Flowers 1
hallucinate Posted February 16 Posted February 16 mostly a coincidence but i do think she wanted to have a moment like flowers
Aaron Posted February 16 Posted February 16 The cope in here from Ariana stans I never thought she’d fall this far 4
Maroonx Posted February 16 Posted February 16 One can simply look at the song that had 1 version and stayed at #1 for multiple weeks and broke records... the other song had 20 version, and collapsed in less than a month 1
Jjang Posted February 16 Posted February 16 why would she want to copy an album that sold less than her lowest selling album
