They meant the quality drop between from Froot to Love + Fear was huge, which I think we can all agree with :gaycattel:

Ohh well yes then we can definitely agree on that! Love + Fear was a god damn mess. ("Orange Trees" was kinda cute tho)

Songs like Lighter, Space Bootz and 1 Sun are among the best from Miley's career though.

Dead Petz has some great highlights, but it just gets lost in the middle of all the mess. With a more sophisticated production, fewer tracks, and more polished imagery, Dead Petz could have been her best album.

omg yes, I feel like Orange Trees is one that people usually cite as one of the bad examples, but I love that one :gaycat7:

If I'm reading the thread title correctly

Gwen Stefani: LAMB > The Sweet Escape > This Is What the Truth Feels Like

Lady Gaga: Born This Way > ARTPOP > Joanne

Miley: Bangerz > Dead Petz > Younger Now

the tweet in the OP is tripping with that one :rip:

Now ESV is a good album and it has its bops, but compared to PH it IS a decline.

I don't think y'all are understanding the tweet lol, although it can be confusing translating it to a thread like this one, I guess.

I'm pretty sure the tweet meant that Pink Floyd declined with quality after Wish You Were Here with both Animals and The Wall. Such weird framing in the tweet itself though, like why come for these certified classic albums when the usual consensus of Pink Floyd is that they started declining quality-wise starting from the 80s/after The Wall? It's fine to not like those 2 albums of course, but it just feels like fishing for quotes/engagement which would not be surprising in a platform like Twitter.

Anyways with that out of the way I would say Madonna after Confessions with every album, nothing came close to her peak or Confessions itself and that's not even one of my top faves by her. Also Gaga after ARTPOP came to mind with Joanne and Chromatica sadly. My fave Ayumi also had a similar trajectory to Madonna after her 2011 EP Five with every album since Party queen being questionable at best. :rip: Namie as well after Uncontrolled with FEEL and _genic, but that's fine since they all have so much good stuff already (though Gaga might be an exception here in terms of sheer quantity :eli:).

There's no way to go but down after an album like Butterfly but Rainbow is a good record and can hold its own.

Yup. And it’s not even just some of the music. The mixing on it is SO bad. :rip: Now that I’m older I really notice it. I’m like how did this get released by a major label? :rip:
