Mads Trier Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 I really thought this would be the year she would get a grammy nomination, it is so disheartening to see her get snubbed again.
nuclear Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Nasty not getting any truly deeply hurt, I can't lie. Especially after the election results.

Appletree Posted March 24 Posted March 24 She deserves the world! She gets all of the profit right? Being independent?
JayG Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Shes probably the best artist of her generation. The world (and Grammys) are TRASH for not giving her the recognition she deserves. 2

Dolce Vita Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) i'll never forget when nasty unexpectedly began to rise, the way everyone was so excited and perched in here for the daily updates. what a way for tinashe to mark her 10 year anniversary in music, such a full circle moment Edited March 24 by Dolce Vita 11 1
Alex Posted March 24 Author Posted March 24 53 minutes ago, Armani. said: How is this just now hitting 1M, mess I feel like the industry doesn't want to see her succeed past a certain level as it would threaten the agency of record labels, and it shows by still being locked out of Grammy noms etc. She really pushed 1M units with a viral moment on her own accord which is honestly super impressive considering everything! I think her team could've pushed it even further but strangely enough Nashe seemed checked out this era in terms of visibility once Nasty's moment wore off, but at least she got a career resurgence moment before going back to her own thing. A platinum hit, a world tour, 4 music videos and an "album" release all in a year is nothing to scoff at either tho. Let's hope she can keep the momentum going with Part 3 14

I'm not expecting anything. Nasty was probably a fluke anyway, but I hope and pray she can build on its momentum, keep going, and finally get the hits she was supposed to after 2 On, instead of repeating the trajectory that followed. That would be iconic and make all the drama of the last decade worth it.

It could be the best of both worlds. Everyone involved could benefit.

Nice Life (and/or the combo with Roc Nation mgmt) isn't exactly doing anything impressive for her besides the fact we got her first tour under Live Nation since she went indie so idk

I mean I doubt we would've gotten Nasty if she didn't sign to Ricky Reed's imprint label so I guess she made the right choice in the end?

I mean I doubt we would've gotten Nasty if she didn't sign to Ricky Reed's imprint label so I guess she made the right choice in the end? Tinashe, despite making some questionable decisions in the past, is a very smart woman. Releasing S4Y independently was a great move, it allowed her to rediscover herself without outside influence. After 333, she recognized the need for a bigger team and began label shopping before ultimately signing with Nice Life. She also secured a publishing deal last year or the year before, showing that she's thinking long-term. Now, after two EPs (I don't care that she calls them LPs) with Nice Life and the success of Nasty, it's clear she needs a bigger distribution deal. If she wants to break into the global market, she needs a global distributor. Even though the QB era was underwhelming after Nasty peaked, she still achieved a lot; a successful global tour (which translates to a growing international fanbase), a platinum-certified song that charted for 16 weeks, and she's outperforming some R&B acts on major labels. She's competing with a few mid-level major label artists, proving that Nasty; whether seen as a fluke or just a cute viral hit, demonstrated she still has real potential. I hope someone is smart enough to invest in her. Her international tour dates were very strategic, and with her heading to Asia this summer, she has a real opportunity to establish herself there. I hope she fully invests in Asia and also expands into Latin America. With the U.S. heading toward a recession, more artists are pivoting toward global markets, and she already has a head start in Asia, she needs to take advantage of that. I used to think the reason she hadn't collaborated with K-pop or J-pop groups was that most of the "love" and shoutouts she received from K-pop acts were just performative. But there are a few K-pop artists who genuinely want to work with her, and I hope she at least gives it a shot. She should also consider collaborating with more Latin artists if possible. 2

She should make a duet with Jay Park!

Appletree Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Are the 3 EPs stand alone projects or is this leading into a full pledge studio album?
hallucinating Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Fingers crossed she merges it all into one album. I'm still wondering if act 3 will just be titled baby?
