They should have just did a new original song together so they can match each other to cater to Mariah's current abilities (she sounds good in her mid-range nowadays). If they did a mid-tempo r&b/pop track together it would eat....but this remix is a hard pass. Ariana would never tell Mariah, who is her biggest inspiration and idol that she sounds off on her song. I get that. But again Ariana should have just let this song die and ask Mariah to do something new with her. It is Ariana's responsibility at the end of the day to make these decisions and this era is just missed opportunity after missed opportunity.
