But this is not the type of country that is charting atm

It will be when she's done.

she's not trying to make modern country though...why would she? there's clearly an effort here for the instrumentation to have a live, nearly raw effect even though it's pristinely produced.

I get the raw, classic style they were going for but I just wish the vocals stood out more and were a bit fuller :bloo:

As someone who absolutely despises country music except for some gems like Golden Hour. I’m very surprised at how much this is growing on me. And this a very old school country sound too:rip:

One thing is for certain though Beyoncé is truly in her own lane and is legendary. She’s taking a BIG risk here going all in on this sound.

I like how she used the end phrasing etc to bring in a bit of her own swag.

The ho-hey stomp-clap of it all, complete with an Andy Griffith whistle, veers dangerously close to the border of Lumineers car-commercial music; this is working-class music for folks who can afford to drive a Lexus.”

I thought critics would call it great as they do with every Beyoncé release but this is pretty spot on.

I would expect nothing less than a polarizing reaction to a country Beyoncé song. I suspect tho, we have a smash on our hands!
