I wish I loved this as much as some of you here, but I can't get into this genre at all. :chick3:

I'll give it a few streams upon release, so it rises on charts in my country, and get the cd to complete my trilogy, but I don't feel it - Renaissance was so instant for me :doc:

You clearly didn't listen to any of it lol

Do all major US albums release in New Zealand and Australia a day ahead? I feel like I only ever see Beyoncé's get "leaked" before it comes out in America.

I believe it's an artist/label decision whether it's a local release vs global release

aoty

all the feature/duet slaps that's how you SHOULD do feature/duet

not a forced rap verse or background vocal whisper like some

like it way better than act 1

and the way i can hear it on public without being persecuted  is chef's kiss

So many songs and so much narrative around an album with essentially so little substance (for her standards)? I felt like, for most, the only Beyoncé thing about it was the fact she sung it. The Spaghetti intro being a statement fitting for Bey and her usually exceptional genre bending, but the horrendous song coming after sums up how this album works, or actually, how it doesn't. All of the non-country moments feel forced, neither they fit the record sonically nor they sound progressive enough to justify the break of overall cohesion. While the straight up country songs are just.. ok at best. Many of the tracks also drag, they lack structural choices that would keep them exciting throughout (like 16 Carriages, American Requiem or Ya Ya which are great and up her usual standards).

Very mixed on this. I remember hating BMS hard and setting expectations for the record low, but God damn the first listen of Ren was an experience I'll cherish forever. Here on the other hand, there is none of that thrill. I've skimmed through the thread and seen lots of acclaim so I hope it grows on me over time, but this is not the trip I hoped it would be.

Eww what a false take.

I hope Tanner will be the tour opener... If she has one. This era feels more likely for that to happen. It's a hoedown.

Please, chilllll. Some of you are doing WAY too much. It's a very long album, you need more time with it before making any conclusions. But I know it's silly to take ATRL seriously.
