I know very well what he calls himself. Whatever his personal opinions are (and he calls himself an anarchist, or at least he has in the past btw), he argues in favor of liberal positions and advocates for Vote Blue No Matter Who. He's cultivated a liberal audience that gets mad whenever Joe Biden faces a single ounce of criticism. He spends far more time shitting on the left and hyperfocusing on wokescolds/tankies than actually doing anything to strengthen it.

 

Not to mention, there's also a character limit for thread titles, so nothing else bigger or more descriptive would even fit.

The "left" as it pertains to America doesn't exist in any meaningful way anymore, and was irreparably killed the moment Joe Biden won the nomination to be the Democratic candidate for president in 2020. The best America has is center-right genocide supporters to far-right genocide supporters, with both ends of the spectrum having unquestioning loyalty to a whole-ass other country (Israel).

 

I detest both Democrats and Republicans, and neither party represents me. Sorry!

I believe the title implies Vaush is a liberal, not a leftist, and that these are two distinct things. I hope we know that, yes? Vaush's politics are far more in line with your average post-Trump liberal than your average anarcho-capitalist libertarian.

 

I think a cretin like Destiny can be argued as playing into more right wing culture war tropes against "wokeness", but Vaush is firmly at odds with that rhetoric, I believe. He cheers on Biden and is staunchly pro-Democrat. The usage of liberal here is to highlight he is not a leftist aka a Marxist-Leninist or socialist broadly.

I'm not sure Vaush's views on the usage of things like drone strikes and Western hegemony is something most leftists would or would want to co-sign. 

 

Though I think this shows a contradiction in most self-proclaimed anarchists. Would an anarchist be invested in elections like Vaush is? I thought anarchists don't believe in a state and thus don't believe in government elections? Is the government using its power to bomb other wars part.of the anarchist worldview? I think he's just an liberal whose previously reformed edgy personality makes him see being just a liberal as lame so he dresses it up. 

 

But a reformed edge lord distancing himself from the right-wingers who used to share his internet humor by condemning Republicans and becoming a hyper-partisan Democrat does not a leftist make.
