She really really needed that tho, compare that performance to what she does now and wow. Her manager and stage designers should be ashamed for okaying whatever it was she was doing at that time, this performance and whatever she thought she was doin twisting her hips like a pencil sharpener. The fact that if this was 15,20 years ago where ppl couldn’t post stuff like that and she would still be doing that…

And if I was to say that her devouring this performance was a crucial factor that saved her career :ryan3:

she really thought her pretty privilege would be enough

I'm happy that she actually listened, and worked on her stages more instead of shaming that comment or something.

She’s still very mid, but cute for today’s standards.

Good. They thought the "bored model" thing would be enough and it was not, it never was

it went viral and people online say 'go girl give us nothing' to this day when someone's performance is underwhelming. there's no way she hasn't seen it or that nobody has ever shown her it

I mean to be fair to her, during her first era she was largely your standard local UK pop girl with one US hit. Most UK pop girls just stand around on stage looking pretty and maybe jump up and down every now and then. Dua was simply doing what was expected of her. Just look at people like Anne-Marie and Mabel or even this iconic performance

She mentioned that she'd been bullied online for her performing skills and the impact that it had had on her mental health. This being the comment that was essentially the catalyst for that backlash, she must be aware of it

Tobias really did THAT!

She needs to continue on her timing and fluidity but she’s def improved

The constant online bullying she endured (and people still bringing up this comment) was not necessary to her success. Just because the outcome was good doesn’t meant it wouldn’t have happened without your harassment

This. She started giving EVERYTHING in those performances

I remember i saw those words was first used against Selena gomez when she wasn’t even singing her horrible song Rare during the interview.

She literally didn’t give anything and she was just saying the lyrics like a robot. Stan twitter has been using it against everyone since then.
