If you're in a relationship and you need a day a year to celebrate it, it's... Not it. That's literally called your anniversary and that's what me and my bf agreed on. VDay is basically useless to us.
TeemoR Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Hate is a strong word, but it is cringe tbh and just an opportunity for businesses to make some money out of it. If you want to use that though as an opportunity to celebrate your love in your own way, that's cute.
Archetype Posted February 8 Posted February 8 It’s probably bitterness, but I know a few people in relationships who don’t like it because they’re not romantic. Idk, not my problem, I think it’s a cute holiday.
fememeist Posted February 8 Posted February 8 The concept is great, but it is problematic to spend so much for a date compared to the next couple or friends or family that don’t put an emphasis on the dollar amount. Social media has rotted our brains to think the worth of your relationship during Valentine’s Day by the amount you spend
Lana Banana Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I always get my bf a handwritten card at least. All the heteros can have their fairytale, I also want my fairytale my way

Oktober Knight Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I just hate how society expects you to participate with going out to eat and giving gifts and candy to your loved one. I will not be pressured to show love for my SO just because Hallmark says I need to, I show him love 365 days a year. I will continue cooking a good meal for him and cuddling on the couch with some popcorn on the 14th.

Bussea Posted February 8 Posted February 8 people who hate valentine’s day as adults are big losers tbh like why do you care so much. i can see why people don’t like you
Tudors Posted February 9 Posted February 9 If people don't care about valentines they just go about their day like any other day
SupremeGoddess Posted February 9 Posted February 9 (edited) if you need to dedicate a day to your relationship and validate your loved ones maybe you should rethink said relationship and how much you actually love your loved ones sorry i don’t follow herd mentality also, many people are severely depressed because we live in a world that doesn’t value individuality and self love so capitalist (yes) holidays that profit off of people’s emotions and manipulates people into feeling bad and lonely does not get my participation. same applies with christmas Edited February 9 by SupremeGoddess
DamianSolo Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I've never actually had a Valentine, but I always did love the holiday and its concept. Someone like me, I just use it as a day to, especially, practice self-care and self-love. People may look at that as being "sad," but I think it's an especially beautiful thing to be able to say, "I love myself." I have the day off and am going to just go out and treat myself, to some shopping and good takeout. Sue me.

Cain Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I don’t hate it, but when I was in a relationship we always thought it was kinda lame Like doing something extra for your relationship because of a commercial day is… kinda cringe idk
flower moon Posted February 9 Posted February 9 i mean its cute if youre a high schooler. i havent thought of that day in years
UnusualBoy Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I mean, it's their choice if they want to hate it. I for one do not care about that date but don't mind it.
kataraqueen Posted February 9 Posted February 9 The people in this thread are so intense about this like sis just go have dinner and give each other some compliments like is it that serious ma
Alldeezy Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Because it's a stupid day However this year apparently but Tasmania boy is sending me gifts on the 14th. So maybe I'll like it at least this year.
