Brooklyn Baby Posted February 5 Posted February 5 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammy_Award_for_Album_of_the_Year The Grammy Award for Album of the Year is an award presented by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States to "honor artistic achievement, technical proficiency and overall excellence in the recording industry, without regard to album sales, chart position, or critical reception."[1] Commonly known as "The Big Award," Album of the Year is the most prestigious award category at the Grammy Awards, and is one of the four general field categories alongside Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year that have been presented annually since the 1st Annual Grammy Awards in 1959. 1
FolkLover1989 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Yes it does You all are acting like Midnights is some panned album Midnights is an excellent record in itself And yes it defined a new type of artistic dominance It perfectly fits the bill 7 2 25

aesthetic bih Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Yeah, technically it does. Midnight does showcase Taylor's musical proficiency, including the album's producers. However, if the question is: Is it the best album among all the nominees? My answer is no. There are way better albums than Midnights on that same category, and I'm saying this as a stan. 1
beautiful player Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Artistic achievement ✅ Technical proficiency ✅ Overall excellence ✅ What more could you want? 7 2
punisher Posted February 5 Posted February 5 it does but the problem is there were 4 albums that fit that even more 1
Daddy Posted February 5 Posted February 5 They just give it to her because their daughters and sons stan her and because she's at a commercial peak. Midnight doesn't deserve any awards, especially when compared to folklore. 2

Achilles. Posted February 5 Posted February 5 It’s technically sufficient but it is in all ways an artistic regression from her previous win, so it’s difficult to call it an artistic achievement.
Kern Posted February 5 Posted February 5 It’s such an underwhelming album. But Jack Antonoff is still Grammys darling. We have to be strong and just wait it out till a new big producer emerges
dejmieeen Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Well, that's awesome that we give a chance to Elevator Music to win awards. 1
WERKER Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I think you need to have a word with yourself ATRL user Taeyong and wonder if it is normal to be this mad that a woman won an award? I’d suggest booking into therapy or seeking further help before ever logging onto ATRL again. Sincerely, Not even a Taylor fan. 1 1
Janet Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Doesn’t Lana get the award too because she’s featured? I thought they got rid of the 30% rule

The question was valid and it's allowed to be asked. You could always... not click on the thread and not reply if the question bothers you that much. Sincerely, A Swiftie since 2008 1 2
flashfox Posted February 5 Posted February 5 The album was ass imo but there was no way they were going to award to anyone other than Taylor.
Rep2000 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Taylor is having the biggest year as a musician in this lifetime. And she's also acclaimed so it would be a susprise that she didn't win more than not. That's overall excellence being rewarded to me. You can't get to where she is right now in her career without excellence, boos. 1 1
