Oh yeah let's act like the hype for born this way wasn't insane and the album didn't sell 2.5M copies WW in a week. Then It's clear didn't had the same impact of the Fame Monster and the same legs but the hype was incredible. And no album before social media can have the hype a new album has now in terms of pré orders and hype. Edited February 5 by vale9001 2
Shinning Posted February 5 Posted February 5 How is she not overexposed at this point? ANOTHER album!? Go to sleep. 1
jomarr Posted February 5 Posted February 5 We call 2 months of not releasing “new” material a comeback now?
Peroxide Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Some of you are really showing your age with “the Born This Way sneak kikikiki” Girls. Sit yourselves down, the hype train for that record was unparalleled at the time. 4
NEX Posted February 5 Posted February 5 4 minutes ago, Shinning said: How is she not overexposed at this point? ANOTHER album!? Go to sleep. Overexposure only kicks in when the quality drops. She is still able to command people's attention and keep them engaged in her music and her lore. This new album would need to be a massive quality slump for her to start losing people's attention. Plus times have changed. Consumers want more of everything that they like and they don't like to wait. 20 years ago it would have been career suicide to release this often. Nowadays it just works
mike_int Posted February 5 Posted February 5 (edited) She literally released her last album 14 months ago And just in last 3 and half years she released 3 studio albums and 4 re-release albums? COMEBACK? WHERE? Overrated? Well ... Edited February 5 by mike_int
Rev8 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 You never know with her Mid was kind of meh, but it still got a lot of sales then 1989TV outsold it, despite also receiving hate for its production ig u can say that she grows with every other following release atp so it may not be a comeback, but it might be another peak in debut like the others
ATRL Moderator bluebirdsforever Posted February 5 ATRL Moderator Posted February 5 It’s the first album Taylor is releasing at the height of her stardom, if that’s what you’re asking - whether that works in her favour or against it cannot be judged until after the album is released She didn’t truly peak until after Midnights was released with the Eras Tour and her past peaks like Fearless and 1989 were both followed by relative career lulls, so this is kind of unprecedented for her outside of the re-recordings
The Music Industry Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Why are Monsters in here mass disliking people calling out the OP for including Born This Way... BTW is factually nowhere near the biggest return album this century Anyway, we'll just have to wait and see how TS11 does. Comparing it to 25 feels like a set up tho!
