MonsterJohn Posted February 5 Posted February 5 (edited) She let her true self slip out and her cult supporters defend her just like they defend her destroying environment, being silent about Genocide and social issues Edited February 5 by MonsterJohn 3 1
TheDreamer Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Love Taylor's music but I admit it left a bad taste. You can tell she only cares about the award. I felt bad for Celine just standing there waiting for her to collect the trophy and she didn't even hug her, nor even look at her and said thank you. I hope she learns from this. 8
FOCK Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Because her PR team will just post a “personal” pic of a letter written in cursive after the fact, thanking Celine for the “great honour” & everyone will “understand” that she was just “caught up in the “emotion of winning” & say “see? I’m glad she said something. Now move on!”. 4 2
skizzo Posted February 5 Posted February 5 As a Taylor fan I definitely found the moment very awkward. I get that she was caught up in the moment, but she had a chance to thank Celine during her speech, or acknowledge her, but didnt. Obviously there's no feud or bad blood, the backstage pic proves this, but I wish she had handled it better. Still, some of y'all are blowing this out of proportion. I think Lana was ruder by not standing up to her entrance (if this is true) 1

She tried to get her hand away, but Taylor is the one who dragged her up there and forced her to make her big entrance in the first place

PillowCase Posted February 5 Posted February 5 2 hours ago, tachiwaka said: This is such a weird thread. Claiming fanbases are organizing outrage at something Taylor did and GASLIGHTING everyone into believing that taking a picture afterwards erases what happened on live television? It’s giving MAGA, and I don’t say that lightly or often. What Taylor did was obviously not intentional, but it was disrespectful. That does not make Taylor disrespectful, but her action absolutely was. And clearly she and her team agree, considering how quickly they disseminated a fresh picture of her with Celine before celebrating her achievement. Fans pretending that what happened on LIVE television wasn’t a big deal is honestly further validating how disrespectful it was because you all are signaling that Celine in that moment didn’t deserve respect. I think her slight was unintentional but her fans are defending it in a way that is unintentionally making it worse. Oh no she didn't react fast enough in the heat of the moment Crucify her 1
Selegend Posted February 5 Posted February 5 (edited) it did feel weird to watch, not gonna lie. but i'm sure it was just excitement especially after their picture backstage Edited February 5 by Selegend
cat1867 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 SZA and Miley also missed hugging/ giving a handshake to one of their presenters. It happens when drunk tired people are rushing in a chaotic high stress situation . Hell the first time Taylor attended the Grammys Rihanna totally ignored her when she presented Rihanna a Grammy for Umbrella . 2 1
its_britney_bitch Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I’m tired of seeing her fans justify it because Céline’s illness means physical contact might trigger a spasm; okay, but what does that have to do with the lack of eye contact and failing to do so much as thank her? It’s pretty disgusting behaviour from her, this was Céline’s moment too, it’s amazing that she’s even capable of getting on stage with her condition 2 1
Comedor Posted February 5 Posted February 5 (edited) I’m not a fan of this white chick forever stuck in her teens diary pages, but that's adrenaline at work, stop being annoying. Edited February 5 by Comedor
spiritboy Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Looking at how well Celine and Mariah look at this year’s Grammy Awards, then i look at my fave at last year’s Grammy’s looking like Gollum .sigh.

I’m not crucifying her. It was clearly unintentional. Your (and her fans’) defense of the disrespect is why it’s still trending twelve hours later. 1
artc0cx Posted February 5 Posted February 5 She wanted to make sure Lana didn't go back to her seat, and while that was happening Celine just moved out of the stage.
SpaceOddity Posted February 5 Posted February 5 10 hours ago, bluebirdsforever said: A rational response: Taylor, while very obviously and visibly overwhelmed, awkwardly accepted an award - it's great her and Celine had the chance to share a real moment backstage, as demonstrated by the cute photo. Anyone who has followed Taylor even casually knows how much she respects legends and her forebears, so I'm sure she would be horrified and embarrassed if she knew that's how she came across to some people. I doubt it was intended. An irrational response: Taylor Swift has one sided beef with Celine Dion (?) and intentionally disrespected her in front of millions of people, revealing her true colours. She should be ashamed of herself. Let's keep things in perspective. I'm much more interested in celebrating the wins women had this evening, especially women of colour, and again interrogating the unfairly distorted playing field for women of colour (especially black women) in the major categories. Some of you are seemingly more interested into turning this into yet another "Taylor Swift is mediocrity personified and the devil incarnate" session by focusing on this tabloid-level trash, which is both unsurprising and incredibly counterintuitive. . Seven ******* pages for this? Are some of you alright? Go outside.
rivers Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Found it more embarrassing that she was forcing Lana up there, someone who was also nominated for the award and lost.
Bosque Posted February 5 Posted February 5 4 hours ago, TeemoR said: It was definitely disrespectful and Taylor and her team know that, since they rushed to take that backstage photo which was obviously planned and strategic. Again, EVERYTHING Taylor does is strategic, get a grip. So Taylor strategically ignored Celine on stage, so that she could take a strategic PR photo with her later? 2 1
LIDDOATIN Posted February 5 Posted February 5 The PRd photo One can be respectful without touching, she just snatched the trophy without acknowledging the legend at all.. truly, REGINA GEORGE 1

spiritboy Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Céline could've easily refused to take photos backstage, Taylor probably made a heartfelt apology.
