Maddox Posted February 5 Posted February 5 She emanates such strong theater kid energy it's so cringe to watch 1
Bosque Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Y’all want the GP to hate Taylor so bad no one cares how Taylor reacted in a 0.4 second time window after winning a big award 1
Braz Posted February 5 Posted February 5 She's so self centered and only thinks about herself and capitalism... 1
Sabrina Carpenter Posted February 5 Posted February 5 she was probably really shocked and excited, they literally have photos from backstage i can tell you losers have never had anything surprising/exciting happen to you because otherwise you would know that her reaction was normal, y’all weird as f*uck 2 1
Last Boy on Earth Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Celine looks amazing. Is she better now from that disease? I hope so 2
Kyoto Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Yeah, I don't understand swifties saying Taylor was too shocked and had too much going on on her head. She has won so many awards before and she is a pro when it comes to handling herself. She simply ignored Céline and only cared about the award during that moment. A good example is that Billie is a trainwreck and is always nervous when winning awards, but she still acknowledged Lionel Richie and gave him a hug and said "I love you". 1 3
Popular Post tachiwaka Posted February 5 Popular Post Posted February 5 This is such a weird thread. Claiming fanbases are organizing outrage at something Taylor did and GASLIGHTING everyone into believing that taking a picture afterwards erases what happened on live television? It’s giving MAGA, and I don’t say that lightly or often. What Taylor did was obviously not intentional, but it was disrespectful. That does not make Taylor disrespectful, but her action absolutely was. And clearly she and her team agree, considering how quickly they disseminated a fresh picture of her with Celine before celebrating her achievement. Fans pretending that what happened on LIVE television wasn’t a big deal is honestly further validating how disrespectful it was because you all are signaling that Celine in that moment didn’t deserve respect. I think her slight was unintentional but her fans are defending it in a way that is unintentionally making it worse. 12 4 2 1

Miley ignored Meryl Streep when she got ROTY. It appears frequently at award shows because drunk tired people in a chaotic environment can often forget a person when they are thanking a ton of people. Decades ago when Taylor presented Rihanna a grammy for Umbrella, Rihanna totally ignored Taylor. In Taylor's case, she usually hugs the presenter when she takes the award . However, Celine is in delicate health so that was discouraged. When Taylor was taking the award, one of her friends shouted her name so Taylor turned her head back. When she turned her head forward, Celine had gotten out of the way so the opportunity passed. Taylor then immediately hugged and thanked Celine backstage after her speech. Yes it would have been better if she had given Celine a handshake but this happens pretty frequently. Taylor gave Celine a standing ovation a minute before along with singing along to Power of Love. Gaia Posted February 5 Posted February 5 It’s so funny the way anything Taylor does gets excused by her fans It’s not hard to say “Yeah, it was disrespectful of her to not even look at or acknowledge Celine as she took the Grammy from her. But I don’t think her mistake on stage warrants a hate train.” Like you can acknowledge the action without the constant justification. Same **** with the top global warmer saying “well she’s too famous to use commercial planes!” I agree the clutching at pearls is a little absurd and forced hate, but it did come off as rude even if unintentional. Doesn’t make Taylor a **** person. That’s it. 1

This was her first public appearance since announcing her condition. it's not a good look. I hope Taylor grows and learns from it. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt but she needs to own her place at the top. Oh please, my point is that people are just using Celine's very real condition for stan wars purpose to flame Taylor as "self-centered" or "narcissist" over a few seconds of a non issue. Imagine gatekeeping a popstar on how she should accept an award from another popstar. Edited February 5 by Rep2000 1

When the way anything Taylor does gets blown out of proportion by her detractors? The pendulum has to swing just as ridiculously far in the other direction to counterbalance it. So it might seem like Swifties go to extreme lengths to defend her actions but it’s only because others are going to extreme lengths to villify them. Why can’t there ever just be a middle ground? (I agree with the rest of your post but that’s sadly not the way most people online react to these things, on either side.) 1
TeemoR Posted February 5 Posted February 5 It was definitely disrespectful and Taylor and her team know that, since they rushed to take that backstage photo which was obviously planned and strategic. Again, EVERYTHING Taylor does is strategic, get a grip. 1 2 1
