A rational response: Taylor, while very obviously and visibly overwhelmed, awkwardly accepted an award - it's great her and Celine had the chance to share a real moment backstage, as demonstrated by the cute photo. Anyone who has followed Taylor even casually knows how much she respects legends and her forebears, so I'm sure she would be horrified and embarrassed if she knew that's how she came across to some people. I doubt it was intended.

 

An irrational response: Taylor Swift has one sided beef with Celine Dion (?) and intentionally disrespected her in front of millions of people, revealing her true colours. She should be ashamed of herself.

Let's keep things in perspective.

 

I'm much more interested in celebrating the wins women had this evening, especially women of colour, and again interrogating the unfairly distorted playing field for women of colour (especially black women) in the major categories. Some of you are seemingly more interested into turning this into yet another "Taylor Swift is mediocrity personified and the devil incarnate" session by focusing on this tabloid-level trash, which is both unsurprising and incredibly counterintuitive.
