I wonder how much of Nicki's hatred for Meg revolves solely around the fact that Nicki has repeatedly mentioned how her "only regret" is not attending college.. she's mentioned Meg's bachelor's multiple times. It's giving envy

It's not like the masters will be worth much hence it's being given to her. Congrats tho.

Happy for Meg, but it’s a disservice to truly independent artists to call artists who have deals with major labels independent. And this doesn’t just apply to Meg, I’ve seen it with a number of artists recently. If you have access to a major label’s budget, promotion, and marketing…you’re not an independent artist. There are plenty of artists who have creative control that are signed to majors, and we don’t call them independent. This also seems like the same kind of deal Beyoncé has for her Parkwood imprint with Sony, for example, and I don’t think we call Beyoncé independent? Major label deal structures are changing, hopefully for the better…master ownership, distribution & marketing deals, etc, are more and more common….but that certainly doesn’t make the artists independent.

I feel you.  I worked at a major label and there were many “indie artists” that signed to majors but kept it on the hush.  Seen it with my own eyes, in black and white.  People are getting creative with the term “indie” for sure.

But either way, I’m just glad she not with her last label.  So nothing can stop her success now.  And that’s all that matters ultimately, imo.  Because 1501 ****** her over real bad.

and this

she was independent during cobra and hiss release, but not anymore. what she's got is truly the best deal someone who signed to a major can get. creative independent, while owning the masters, otherwise she will afford a budget to further promote herself and her work and will be able to profit on her tour.

probably the only mainstream independent girl right now is RAYE

Here is the co-founder of audiomack further breaking down the deal:

It also appears she’s signed over her power of attorney to Roc, which is… a choice.

Y’all better keep showing up for her & actually purchasing & supporting, or she’s going to find herself in a bigger hole than with 1501.

If Megan owns her publishing and masters then I'm guessing Warner just get a percentage of how much money her music makes.

They’re so BITTER and for what?
The desperation to defend someone like nicki when I’ve seen them express faux outrage over other artists is crazy
