Sweetestsecret Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) Megan released new versions so her song will go #1 on hot 100. Ariana did the same thing 3 weeks ago. They are happy with megan now but they were mad when Ariana did the same thing. Why? Edited February 1 by Sweetestsecret 2 3 5

Devin Posted February 1 Posted February 1 yea i noticed too much criticism with Ari meanwhile Taylor dropped all them versions of singles AND albums she got away unscatched. 2 10 7
Badgalbriel Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Well, Meg is doing this to humble Nicki Minaj, the Donal Trump of music. 4 2
Badgalbriel Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) Just now, Devin said: yea i noticed too much criticism with Ari meanwhile Taylor dropped all them versions of singles AND albums she got away unscatched. Did she? Edited February 1 by Badgalbriel 2 4
Kern Posted February 1 Posted February 1 well, in one case the song is bad and didn't deserve any more versions

Afterglow Posted February 1 Posted February 1 They say they hate Nicki, mad cuz they ain't Nicki. 1 11 2
Bosque Posted February 1 Posted February 1 People have always been hypocritical about additional versions, everyone just ignored that for a few years because it was a convenient tool to drag Taylor while all other pop girls were sleeping
Digitalism Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) None of this situations are about the music the Ariana fans wanted the quick cheap #1 The Hiss situation is not even about Megan Stan world in a nutshell Edited February 1 by Digitalism 1
KatyPrismSpirit Posted February 1 Posted February 1 hating on versions is the dumbest thing ever? its a marketing tactic that is effective and has existed for ages. people hating artists for doing it 9/10 times just dont like the artist / find anything to drag them
fememeist Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Megan is a girl’s girl and has a good narrative behind her Arianka im afraid is a man’s girl/mistress and her reputation is the pits 5 1 2 2
pride4jc1222 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) The difference is that HISS is more organic. Yes and? peaked in streaming on day 1, and was all downhill from there. HISS gained in streams and worked its way to #1 during the week. Yes and? is already out of the Top 10 in Week 3, and will probably finish with around 10-12 weeks on the Hot 100. HISS is going to be around for a while, even if it doesn't quite stick on radio, as its streaming isn't just going to disappear. Edited February 1 by pride4jc1222 8 1

"Unscathed" when I literally got quoted with "Taylor has 15425724159 albums" two days ago... OT: Nicki also had multiple versions so it's only fair.
K$Ellie Posted February 1 Posted February 1 because the song is already out of the top 10 after two weeks, it’s not #1 worthy 2
ReneighIsHere Posted February 1 Posted February 1 if an artist has a dedicated fanbase of course labels are gonna try to take advantage of it and try to go #1.. so I don't see why anyone would be mad. In this case tho i think some stans were making fun of ariana cause since she's a main pop girl everyone kinda expected her comeback lead single to go #1 easily. On the other hand the fact that Meg has a chance with no radio, no playlisting and with a rap song with no hook is already insane 6
Villas Posted February 1 Posted February 1 That head of yours must empty, too much void I guess. It’s not that dense to know there is an evil outside luring Megan, about time to hunt that b*** who is always belittling someone. 1

Domination Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Because Meg has no playlisting or radio support like Ari. 5
dman4life Posted February 1 Posted February 1 I agree it's definitely hypocritical but with Meg it's moreso about that narrative so I can see why many stans and fans who are normally critical about these tactics letting it slide...the Ariana fans aren't wrong for feeling some type of way however
