NoOneDiesFromLove Posted February 1 Posted February 1 I say kick every biased member off the voting comittee!
JoeAg Posted February 1 Posted February 1 he did not just insinuate that the f*cking Foo Fighters deserve to be the face of rock over FIONA APPLE how can you be so idiotic. f*cking dingbat 2
G.U.Y_Del_Rey Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) The fact that there's probably thousands of voters like this person . Some of the worst takes I've ever read, beating most ATRL posts. Edited February 1 by G.U.Y_Del_Rey 4
suneclipse121 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) This is giving me flashbacks from last year’s blind ballots It was pretty obvious that Harry Styles would take the big prize and it looks like Taylor will follow. Extremely predictable. SZA should win AOTY but she will suffer the same fate as Beyoncé. Edited February 1 by suneclipse121 1
ShouldersSideways Posted February 1 Posted February 1 This says so much about why the general field always ends up the way it does. 1
BODERLINE Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Lana still being judged for the SNL performance TWELVE years later is absolutely ridiculous and I'm ******* sick of it. She has MORE than proved herself since, and if you can't see that objectively, you shouldn't be on a panel that votes to award musicians. 5
Polgg48 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Spoiler Album of the Year Very packed category. Really love the efforts from Lana Del Rey and Boygenius, but I decided to reward them in other categories in their genre. I also feel like, in most cases, the big winner should be an album that genuinely changed the culture. While I would’ve voted for Taylor Swift or Olivia Rodrigo in any other year, my heart had to go with SZA. SOS is just a phenomenal record and it’s been my playlist for this past year. It would be more exciting for SZA to win than for Swift to win yet another big prize too. Record of the Year I had a hard time with this category, especially because I truly love all eight nominees. Ultimately was between “Flowers”, “Kill Bill”, and “Vampire” for me, but I went with the latter because I realized I hadn’t chosen Rodrigo anywhere else. I would be more than content with any winner, though. And shout of to us for getting some truly inspired picks nominated – loved those Boygenius and Victoria Monét mentions. Song of the Year This category is for songwriting, and no song pulled me in lyrically more than “Kill Bill”. I think it’s such a clever piece of music. The bridge is my favorite music moment of the year, just feels like the perfect release for all the tension the song’s built up. A close second here would’ve been Lana Del Rey’s “A&W”, but I just have to go with SZA. Best New Artist I love a couple of artists here, so the decision was hard. While I get that Coco Jones and Noah Kahan have had admittedly big years, my favorite release from anyone here was Victoria Monét’s Jaguar, so I went with her. I like Ice Spice more than the most but no way she wins a Grammy. Best Pop Solo Performance Here I went with “Flowers”, which I just think is a crowning moment in Miley Cyrus’ career. I was actually a big fan of her pandemic release, Plastic Hearts, and I feel like this song in particular fits the level of excellence that album had. Hope it doesn’t go to Swift – she can win elsewhere. Best Pop Duo/Group Performance This category is surprisingly good despite not having a runaway frontrunner or huge hits. I actually don’t hate “Karma”, but being a younger voter, I know when song’s are not respected by fans or the internet. I feel like part of our job as members is to keep the integrity and reputation of NARAS. Went with SZA’s “Ghost in the Machine“; I think it would be a good winner, it’s my favorite here, and it’s a song anyone can celebrate. The blend of R&B and indie music truly works great. Best Pop Vocal Album This is the category where I give Taylor Swift her flowers. Midnights just truly ruled the music world, and I think it’s an amazing release. I was truly inspired by some of the album tracks too. Really big fan of GUTS too, but that’s not much of a pop album anyways. Best Pop Dance Recording Didn’t like a lot of these songs, but I’ve been a fan of Troye Sivan’s work for a while, thus voted for “Rush“. As long as it isn’t Coi Leray and Anne Marie… Best R&B Performance I adore “Kill Bill”, but I decided to go with Coco Jones for “ICU” here. I would really hate for her to get snubbed, and I think she delivers a hell of a performance in that track. Sure SZA will win elsewhere too. Fleahive Posted February 1 Posted February 1 At least he attempted to listen to every album. Didnt last years voters straight up say they didn’t listen to an album or song but still voted? That pissed me off.
Bethenny Frankel Posted February 1 Posted February 1 of course they dragged a black woman and then praised a white woman

Letemtalk Posted February 1 Posted February 1 The Midnights and Morgan Wallen choices sounds like a real Grammy voter. Plus a Swift vote in Best Pop Duo/Group performance. She's the conservative voters choice.

ohwow Posted February 1 Posted February 1 we've known the grammys are just another white ppl awards ceremony, i feel like we go thru this every year but ppl still act like they are indicative of good music lmao 1 2
Shinning Posted February 1 Posted February 1 The Kill Bill comments "degeneracy" This is what we mean by "the Grammys are racist" 5

Brikenbur Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) Let’s all be prepared for “Midnights” winning AOTY as it’s such as SAFE and boring choice for the GRAMMYS to get good publicity from it winning The only other scenario would be Taylor winning Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance or Best Pop/Duo Group Performance (could you imagine) if she doesn’t nab AOTY. It’s all calculated. Edited February 1 by Brikenbur 2

Some of the worst takes I've ever read, beating most ATRL posts. That scene in the Simpsons is so funny. When I was growing up, no one would take the Grammys seriously and they were always dragged for being fake. I think they realized and started working on cleaning their image. As part of that, you can tell they've made their biggest winners people with huge online fan bases and it has worked. There is no one who upholds the Grammys as much as pop stans, it's ridiculous and sad to see

And since then she has made Self Titled, Lemonade and Renaissance, more explicitly Black albums that keep getting snubbed because they keep giving it to white mediocrity for the same reasons that MAGA voter laid out. More inoffensive and palatable (bland) and large sales. Saying that they gave it to her for Single Ladies, one of her most pop and basic efforts actually reinforces the point.
