Aston Martin Posted January 27 Posted January 27 You always hear that society is for everyone when laws, politicians, and businesses only benefit the wealthiest of people. 8
Popular Post Cruel Summer Posted January 27 Popular Post Posted January 27 Modern capitalism or organized religion, probably. The belief that our purpose in life is to live our lives in devotion to someone else over ourselves, our families, and each other is an insidious, festering rot that comes in many forms. 14 2
Dante Silva Posted January 27 Posted January 27 That being gay is sinful and sexuality is not fluid only to grow up and discover that people are up to all sorts on the down low behind their partners backs. 5

imabadkid Posted January 27 Posted January 27 that we live in a society/country that is 100% based on meritocracy. 7

Popular Post CandleGuy Posted January 27 Popular Post Posted January 27 That all progress is good. The industrial revolution and capitalism have led us to the point where our food and water supply are irreparably poisoned. Technology has advanced in ways that humanity is not equipped to handle. We have become addicted to quick and easy hits of dopamine in a way that our brains are not programmed for. That's before we even get to nuclear weapons, AI, etc - which all pose a threat to humanity as we know it, in the name of "progress". 8 7
worldwide angel Posted January 27 Posted January 27 “humanity/human nature is inherently fickle or brutish.” that line of thinking flattens humanity into a simply and fixed idea, it justifies a lot of atrocities and the lack of intervention to stop said atrocities. 5

Mr. Peanutbutter Posted January 28 Posted January 28 That job is the thing to make you feel full filled. No. You sell your time and knowledge and they pay you, there's no beauty behind it. Of course you can feel good about your job and have fun working, which is great but growing up people talked about work as if that's the reason to live. It's not. 7 2
AMIT Posted January 28 Posted January 28 That working hard (and the now refurbished version working smart ******* ew) will get you rich. That the state is there to serve its people when it's literally the other way around. That hierarchical power structures are ''natural'' (hierarchy is natural in some cases, but that's not the same thing as hierarchichal power structures). Thinking they are is a right-wing belief. 3
