Madonna being friends with Amy SCUMer is not news. However, people are rightfully calling her out because she used to be vocal about the situation in Palestine and she's now platforming a racist genocide supporter. When you position yourself as an ally, you have to expect that people will come for your allyship. When it’s time to do the work that actually matters and it’s suddenly radio silence, you will rightfully be dragged. "WTF you want us to do"....maybe grow up (MENTALLY!!) and understand that it is totally okay for you to be a fan of her music and art while also criticizing her antics and her calling her out on her bullshit. Trust me, nobody is taking away her "The Legendary Queen of Pawp!" title. "Do your throw all your friends in the garbage when you disagree with their political views?".........first of all, being pro-genocide, calling all Palestinians/Arabs terrorists and rapists, and constantly spreading racist rhetoric is not a "political opinion". So let's stop right there. 3 1 4

ebaby Posted January 24 Posted January 24 so glad I had Jose Xtravaganza for my show the night before oh my god I would have been pissed if this was at my show. I'll speak on this as an arab american — her stance on this has always been lacking and inconsistent. she'll be lightly vocal years ago and do half baked statements in her shows (confessions, eurovision) but then when things are really getting dire she's either silent (summer 2021) or posts some messy video and then goes silent (october 2023) imagine talking about being a freedom fighter in your interludes and then bringing amy schumer on stage I feel like her heart is often in the right place. I remember seeing the video of her during this tour speaking about the Palestinian boy who was murdered in chicago. but moments like this and her post she made make me disappointed. she needs to get it together. 3 1
spiritboy Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Keep on fuming i guess, i don't care and neither does Madonna, she has already moved on to next concert. I suggest you guys do the same, block Madonna on social media and enjoy your lives. 3 10

Madonna has always been Pro-Israel at heart though. She is studying Kabbalah and she even has a Jewish name, Esther. Her manager Guy is a total zionist. I doubt M will ever talk against Israel openly, she just won't pick a side in my opinion. 4

So let's stop right there. Since you have the memory of a blue tang fish, I'll remind you that you didn't call Madonna out and instead quoted my harmless cookie monster emoticon with this idiotic rant: "Yasss muva!!! Support that genocide!! Keep platforming raging Zionists!!! Don't give a **** about ATRL thinks!!!! Imbeciles." In what capacity is quoting an emoticon "calling Madonna out"? I'll save you the trouble and will answer this for you. Your post was simply your way of being childish and mocking the way we talk about her (which ironically we only do as a means to troll and annoy the braindead morons on this website), and instead made you look rather foolish and embarrassing and actually reveals how frayed your state of mind is more than anyone on this site, and you post things like that fairly often. and since when did I not call her out for the late starts? Read that thread again, and slowly because I have never given her a free pass for being late, (especially when I was one of the attendees). What I do have a problem with are "fans" who tell lies and take advantage of the situation for a quick cash-grab. Not that this has anything to with this thread but still. lbr, the only one's coming for Madonna are same ones who flock to every negative thread and set up camp to continue the bashing. It's no coincidence that threads like this are generally opened by someone from your base, and serve no purpose but to invite negativity. It's been like this for years. Yes, there are times when she does deserves it (like now perhaps) but you cannot deny many people are just using this thread to attack because it's Madonna and really couldn't give a **** about palestinians. "Constantly spreading racist rhetoric"? I think you're really grasping at straws now, but either way I'm done with ATRL for a while, so you can all pop your corks and enjoy the bashing. I won't be here to see it. 6 10

If you just agree with the rest of us that this was a disgusting gesture you can just move on to the next topic and defend her when she actually deserves to be defended. 11

As could the haters, but they are still here repeating themselves. How is a hate thread on ATRL beneficial to palestinians? 6
spiritboy Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Maybe we don't think it was a disgusting gesture and you guys accept it and move on? It's not like that they've opened an Israeli flag and made propaganda. Madonna invited her friend and had fun on stage. She doesn't have to share the same world views to do that. I'm not defending her because she didn't do anything that needs defending. 2 4

Again, what if her invited friend, instead of actively advertising for the genocide of palestinians, was having problematique views on lgbtq+ rights, would you still act this nonchalant? Or pick any human rights matter you care about, how can you turn a blind eye on one issue but care for another? How do you guys still choose to believe that human rights are not interconnected?

She has already attended Dave Chapelle's talk show, a man who is openly anti-trans rights. She might even be friends with him, who knows. 1

Horizon Flame Posted January 24 Posted January 24 6 hours ago, on the line said: You usually have pretty good takes, but you're wrong on this one. Amy has (had?) a large following, and she was putting out pro-Israeli propaganda left and right before it was even slightly socially acceptable to show support for Gaza. Remember folks were being fired from jobs and blacklisted for showing any support to Palestinians. Amy had a big platform to influence people, especially coming from a Jewish, liberal person who could've really set the tone for the nuanced and delicate subject matter. Instead, she went all-in posting straight up propaganda. So, no, Amy's stance didn't affect the war itself, but it did affect the public perception of the war, which is almost more important. Most normal people don’t take their cues from celebrities and have their own opinion on such matters.

spree Posted January 24 Posted January 24 so now the take away is Madonna is pro-genocide? What kinda cesspool is this site? 2 2
ricardoazevedo Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Being friend with her doesn`t means that she suports her friend ideals. At the time of the Israeli/Palestine war she posted that she was against violence in both sides, she isn`t suporting no one. 1 3

Both Sides Now Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Amy Schumer saying that all Pro-Palestinian people are rapists aside, what is the point of this segment of the tour? Does the guest rate the voguers or something? How insulting for these artists getting judged by a talentless white woman like Amy Schumer. Who devised this tour??? 1 12
