Elusive Chanteuse Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Amy is a mess. Madonnas manager is Israeli so she won't be chanting performative slogans to get likes on twitter. She has spoken about the conflict numerous times on this tour already. 4 2 1

Alongoria13 Posted January 24 Posted January 24 (edited) What's with people looking at everything in black and white? I'm not a fan of Amy and I'm aware she's posted wild things lately so putting her on stage is not the wisest atm but I doubt Madonna is even aware of it, and even if she was....she's proven to not care about being guilty by association so w/e. The outrage in here is all clout chasing *******, as usual. Edited January 24 by Alongoria13 8 6
Jjang Posted January 24 Posted January 24 5 minutes ago, Jay07 said: Oh My God, the meltdown. Yes, she's in the wrong for this, especially since she always positioned herself as being a voice for the voiceless. But in her mind, she invited her friend up onstage to have fun, she wasn't standing for genocide and I'm not sure calling her a senile hag is doing much against genocide either. She has always tried to be on the right side of history when she can and if she has a blind spot in this particular issue due to her age, her associations and being american without full exposure to the issue, then she should be educated (as she has shown herself to be willing to do) and do better, not be vilified and stoned, she's not a far right extremist. Stop acting like a petulant child. Come on, now. It's sad to see you out of all people defending her on this. A petulant child? Really? Because I denounce her complicity in the genocide of my people? Had she invited an actively raging homophobe/anti-trans to a show of hers (not necessarily in the context of this show, before you try it) I'm sure it would suddenly dawn on all of you how problematic that gesture would be. But when it comes to genocide it doesn't matter as much apparently. Nah, we've given her the benefit of the doubt during the uprising of May 2021. Her own daughter was posting pro-Palestinian content while she was on mute. Bob the Drag Queen, who is an integral part of the show has been extremely vocal on the issue on his social media. He even shaded Amy Schumer and Michael Rapaport specifically. She follows him. Her dancers are almost all pro-Palestine and post about it. She follows them. Her drummer etc. Millions of people are taking to the streets to protest, and Palestinian creators in Gaza who are documenting their lives are getting as much as 150 million views per video. Is she blind or something? Does she live in a cave? The whole world knows about this issue now. She had no problem unabashedly supporting Ukraine against Russia's occupation. At the very least she's inclined to give a public opinion (aside from the kumbaya kumbaya let's hug trees all lives matter opinion) because this is an issue she's been engaged in for decades. But nothing. The only thing she gave us is that propaganda October 7 video she edited. Her stance is clear. 6 4 1 1
HardBambi Posted January 24 Posted January 24 If there’s prove she stans Israel then I will make a clear difference in stanning the Madonna that used to be or the one now
Stankonia Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Why are y'all acting surprised as if Madonna didn't just sign the same letter thanking Genocide Biden for his leadership during the war in Gaza - aka funding and encouraging the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians - that Amy signed? She's a zionist too. 6 1 3
TeemoR Posted January 24 Posted January 24 You are kidding me right? I’m glad both these hags are over. 6
sickofwaitingtables Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Utterly disappointing. What I don't understand is how Madonna, who is pretty well informed (for a multimillionaire celebrity) and who has shown support for Palestine before, seems to have completely lost the plot on this issue. I understand some of you think this is Guy's influence, but Madonna is not a baby and certainly not a push over. Also, I don't get how her fans want to defend her as if criticizing her will mean that they have returned their stan card. You can love her as an artist and still feel she's wrong on this one. 10

Almighty Gaga Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Hardly out of character considering Madonna is the Amy Schumer of music. 1 2

Do your throw all your friends in the garbage when you disagree with their political views? Did you expect the fans to disown her, or are you hoping one would crack up and attempt an assassination during a live show? (although, one "fan" seems almost there, tbh) Her opinions and political views often differ with mine, so I really don't know what you want me to say. saying Palestinians are all rapists is not a political opinion 2 2

Amy has (had?) a large following, and she was putting out pro-Israeli propaganda left and right before it was even slightly socially acceptable to show support for Gaza. Remember folks were being fired from jobs and blacklisted for showing any support to Palestinians. Amy had a big platform to influence people, especially coming from a Jewish, liberal person who could've really set the tone for the nuanced and delicate subject matter. Instead, she went all-in posting straight up propaganda. So, no, Amy's stance didn't affect the war itself, but it did affect the public perception of the war, which is almost more important.

The lack of self-awareness to be calling my post calling her out a "meltdown" when you and certain other Madge fans are literally spiraling at the slightest criticism she gets (see: the thread about her being late to her shows) and screaming "yas mother!! don't care about those trolls". Madonna being friends with Amy SCUMer is not news. However, people are rightfully calling her out because she used to be vocal about the situation in Palestine and she's now platforming a racist genocide supporter. When you position yourself as an ally, you have to expect that people will come for your allyship. When it’s time to do the work that actually matters and it’s suddenly radio silence, you will rightfully be dragged. "WTF you want us to do"....maybe grow up (MENTALLY!!) and understand that it is totally okay for you to be a fan of her music and art while also criticizing her antics and her calling her out on her bullshit. Trust me, nobody is taking away her "The Legendary Queen of Pawp!" title. "Do your throw all your friends in the garbage when you disagree with their political views?".........first of all, being pro-genocide, calling all Palestinians/Arabs terrorists and rapists, and constantly spreading racist rhetoric is not a "political opinion". So let's stop right there. Edited January 24 by State of Grace. 20 6 4
