Ewan Chaos Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Well the best Barbie single, Speed Drive, wasn't nominated because it has two samples so they shut it out The next best single, Angel, I don't think PP even tried promoting on an Oscar run. The third best single, DTN, was never gonna be nominated as an upbeat dancepop song. The fourth best single WWIMF got in though and deserves the win
Sannie Posted January 23 Posted January 23 ATRL still not understanding how relatively rare it is for popstars or pop music to be nominated. Dua never stood a chance. 1
Psycho Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Because apparently ballads are real art and perfectly polished pop hits aren't

Dua just did random radio interviews, while even Ryan released a whole EP. as often you talk just to talk. Dua Lipa even made roundtables about songwriters, behind the scenes specials, and attended Barbie special events with journalists in the last couple of months. She really campaigned to the point some fans were complaining she was focused more on that than on Houdini promo Edited January 23 by vale9001 1
Margaux Posted January 23 Posted January 23 they love ballads. and billie is good at making generic sad songs.

ATRL Moderator supaspaz Posted January 24 ATRL Moderator Posted January 24 "What Was I Made For?" was nominated, though.
