Great808 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 A solid decade of numerous #1’s, the first artist that’s managed real, genuine consecutive back to back smash eras with real genuine hits and not fizzling out like almost every MPG the past 15 yrs (whether or not some managed a comeback), does Ari have anything left to prove? If she quit music would she have had anything left she should have done to make an impact or have had more success?
suburbannature Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Hmm, I'd say yes. I think she's lacking a magnum opus as well as a true blockbuster album. Her album units have always been a tad lackluster relative to her single success. I also think she should lean even more into her vocal prowess as well as writing/producing. But she's still relatively early in her career (especially by streaming era standards) so the magnum opus should come with time. 4 4

Gelato Posted January 22 Posted January 22 no. she's achieved more than 99.9999999999999999% of people on the planet will
WildAmerican Posted January 23 Posted January 23 not really music wise, but overall, i suppose she still needs to prove herself as a lead actress in a film
kexin Posted January 23 Posted January 23 she has nothing left to prove, Positions is her magnum opus and shows how willing she is to expand her box (safety net, west side) into whatever sound and visuals she’d like to make. she has an eye for association and that’s all an artist can ever dream to have or be. 3
on the line Posted January 23 Posted January 23 No. Once you look a baby mama in the face after holding the baby and then go down on the dad there's not really much else anyone expects from ya. 1 9
wildsidenormani Posted January 23 Posted January 23 No, she's achieved more than most people ever will Spoiler Although not a necessity, it would be nice to see her tour stadiums at some point. I'm not sure how likely it is in the future but she definitely could've done it in certain cities during the sweetener world tour e.g. she did 5 nights at the O2 arena in London which is ~100,000 people and 2 nights at MSG in NYC which is ~60,000. She'd have to get that sweetener/thank u next era momentum going again which might be a challenge because they were simply just massive eras 1
Communion Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Commercially, no. Artistically, yes. Ready for her to give us art. A concept album. Really dive into her work as a vocalist, songwriter and music producer. 5
Aribiotch. Posted January 23 Posted January 23 No she doesn’t. She’s solidified her spot but at the same time she still has the potential to be much bigger if she wants it. She has the voice of a generation and I think sometimes she plays it too safe vocally and settles for the bops. I would also like to see her add in a couple stadiums next tour in select cities . Some cities for the sweetener tour she did almost 3 shows, all sold out.
byzantium Posted January 23 Posted January 23 It depends what she is trying to prove. She has so far had a good string of successful eras. However I feel like she has lacked the mega-successful era like GGGB, The Fame, 1989, Teenage Dream, WWAFAWDWG?, and Sour. She has also lacked an artistic masterpiece.
airplane Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) A lot, actually. She’s yet to make a solid album that’s universally acclaimed or has won several Grammys, or an album that’s sold between 15-20M units. She also lacks in the touring department. If i’m correct, she has never performed in a stadium. A lot of the girls that came after her have achieved most of that. She’s also not an albums artist. I’ve genuinely never liked a full album from her, just a few hits here and there Edited January 23 by airplane 1

Aristocrat Posted January 23 Posted January 23 No. She's on year 10 of her career as a pop star and just scored her 8th #1 hit a decade in. She has 6 successful, critically acclaimed albums, countless hits, Grammys and shows no signs of slowing down. Longevity is harder than ever to keep and she's sticking around whether the OAHs like it or not. And her movie star era is up next. 2
Dante Silva Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Does she have stans who as kids, never watched her Nickelodeon show?
Rhyme Posted January 23 Posted January 23 No, her hits speak for themselves and her discography is consistently amazing. Another thing is you can never question the fact she can sing like an angel.
Kodak Energy Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Yes, I want to see her go all out for an era again, she’s always cut her eras short other than My Everything and she has so much potential that I think she’s just not meeting.
littlebodybigheart Posted January 23 Posted January 23 yes. that she can make an album that actually stands the test of time. and that she can have a stadium tour. but i don’t think she can actually prove that, so in that sense then i guess she’s hit the ceiling 1
CristianGarcia Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) Yes. She needs to capitalize off an album for all its worth. Thank U Next had the potential. Idky she didn’t release anymore singles after break up with ur boyfriend, (“bloodline” and “bad idea” were right there.) She stops and moves on to the next era before anyone gets a feel for them. (Same with Dangerous Woman & Positions). This era has potential to be a fresh direction for her she better SERVE Edited January 23 by CristianGarcia
frankvert Posted January 23 Posted January 23 She’s achieved almost everything a musician can. However she has LOADS to prove as an actress. Wicked will be her first test
DangerousNicky Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) I feel like a huge stadium tour and huge album (she genuinely doesn't have any album that stands the test of time and is consumed in its entirety like CTRL, Born to Die, 21) would be nice; apart from that, a couple of 7 Rings sized hits would be great too. When it comes to acting she hasn't even really began yet, Wicked will be her first big moment but I'm assuming the title was referring to music so Edited January 23 by DangerousNicky typo
ImpressMeMuch Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Her talent runs deep and she has proven it like Taylor, you can’t argue that she’s an artist and her songs have her dna in them to their core exhibit a, your honour e 2
