Chartman Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Beyonce is a good example: Combining Beyonce‘s success with DC and her solo recordings she is one of the VERY best selling artists ever. So is Taylor. Taylor turns into the highest grossing female touring force ever. Beyonce will take a spot right behind her in the future. Both Taylor and Beyonce are hot favorites at award shows. They won hundreds of awards. Both released highly acclaimed albums. Both have covered all important magazines multiple times. Both woman work hard year after year for more success, not resting on previous success. This is the league Taylor plays. 2 1
Fleahive Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I thought peers were people you started out in the industry with as competition? Why are yall saying she’s peerless??? 1

Flower Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I always thought peers just meant artists who rise up around the same time, so like Katy, Gaga, Rihanna, and etc. 1

Soda Pop Queen Posted January 23 Posted January 23 All these random different answers lol. This isn't a hard concept to grasp because it is mainly based on age group + experience. Your peers are artists that you came up with and competed against for most or all of your prime. These artists will always be considered your peers even if you surpass them in some/all metrics. With that being said, I would say her peers are Rihanna, Adele, Drake, Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Justin Beiber, Miley Cyrus (et. al), Ariana Grande and The Weeknd (being the last in her age group to ascend during her prime).

Why are yall saying she’s peerless??? lol they slow. Your peers don't just cease to exist as your peers just because you may have outlasted them. Madonna and Michael still had Whitney, Janet, George, Prince, Cyndi, etc. Beyoncé is still the peer of Britney, Usher, Christina, Eminem, P!nk, Shakira, Justin Timberlake, etc.
Titanbaddie Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Taylor's peers are Rihanna, Gaga, Katy, Ciara, Carrie etc because they were all "ingénues" around the same time in music which is around 2005 - 2009. Beyonce's peers would be JLO, Britney, Xtina, Blu, Nivea, Mya, Jessica and Alicia because they were all in that 1996 - 2001 music era.
