Digitalism Posted January 22 Posted January 22 She did this pretty fast So she has time for the label to send it to radio let it smash and release the single by the time MOTDF slows down

CD singles and vinyls are being sold. Not sure how radio works there because of ACR, but she's on track to re-peak at #2. Insane. Idk what's going on in the US. I imagine this is all very new to her and her team, but the CDs and vinyls are also being sold there. I hope they at least start by releasing her discography in the US and other countries. Make a Scene is missing outside Europe 1
Sky Engineer Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Didn't she say that with hypnotised and then we got HANA? I'll believe her this time 2
Nashe Posted January 22 Posted January 22 there was always something very intriguing about Sophie so her getting another shot at a bigger career is more than deserving
Dark Phoenix Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Can we get a duet with Jessie Ware?? That would be amazing ! Love to see her having a new peak. 1

Casablanca is a subsidiary of UMG and is distributed by Republic. Just in time for SEB8, which she's working on with Cathy Dennis and Richard X. Sophie did "Catch You," "Off & On," and "Sophia Loren" with Cathy Dennis, and then "Starlight" and "Magic" with Richard X. She's also expressed interest in working with people who did Read My Lips (2001) with her. https://www.nme.com/en_asia/news/music/sophie-ellis-bextor-saltburn-nude-scene-murder-on-the-dancefloor-success-interview-3568833 im curious is she the singer in your avi? what video is that? this is one of the few and rare cases where something going viral is worthwhile and deserving. murder on the dancefloor is a great song period and i'm glad things have aligned for her in a way that people are being introduced to her and that she may experience a rebirth/renaissance kind of era. i'm hype

It's from "Take Me Home (A Girl Like Me)." Her discography is amazing! I would recommend her greatest hits album Songs from the Kitchen Disco as a sampler. I discovered her in 2022 and haven't looked back since. Plus nearly all her albums sound fresh today. "Murder on the Dancefloor" sounds like it could have come out last year, and most of her discography holds up just as much. Excellent pop. Her first four albums are disco-pop, synthpop. Her next three are indie pop/dreampop, but have very tight songwriting. You'll find plenty to love Some of my favorites are: From Read My Lips (2001): "Take Me Home," "Murder on the Dancefloor," "Lover" From Shoot from the Hip (2003): "I Won't Change You," "Party In My Head," "Mixed Up World" From Trip the Light Fantastic (2007): "Me and My Imagination," "If I Can't Dance," "Catch You" From Make a Scene (2011): "Off & On," "Heartbreak (Make Me a Dancer)," "Starlight" From Wanderlust (2014): "Runaway Daydreamer," "The Deer & the Wolf" From Familia (2016): "Come With Us" From Hana (2023): "Breaking the Circle," "Everything is Sweet" You should definitely check "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)," both the original Spiller version and the 2020 solo re-recording.
