perfillusion Posted January 20 Posted January 20 She remained a one-hit wonder (Royals). That album with all the hype about her doing videos on the beach in New Zealand was especially dismal. 5 9

I'm trying so hard to not type something bad right now especially after reading the terms one hit wonder, videos on the beach, dismal, and combining these with your profile pic and username. 1 14 1
Big Bad Wolf Posted January 20 Posted January 20 She’ll be fine. Her niche little base will keep trying to convince everyone she’s the greatest thing alive. Despite releasing 3 albums in 10 years. 1 being critically and commercially panned and polarizing among her base. She’s never been all that and yet to showcase lyricism that isn’t juvenile (imo) but SP was a cute start. Hopefully she grows into a better artist the “long game” she’s playing off works 1 1

punisher Posted January 20 Posted January 20 (edited) how many times do we need to have this thread… we all know it’s solar power like Edited January 20 by punisher
Nights Posted January 20 Posted January 20 I can list far more things that went right with Lorde than things than went wrong. That being said, I think Solar Power was a huge misstep commercially BUT she seems to be happy with it, so good for her. I really do wish for her next album to be something more up my ally tho. Melodrama remains one of the greatest albums ever and Pure Heroine is great as well. 2

They were laughing at how badly she sounded when she sings acapella She didn't sound bad. She sounded exactly like how it sounds on the studio version. If you listen to Writer In The Dark on Spotify and then on shushing videos, they sound the same. She said it before that she wanted it to sound like she's crying. The "people" you're talking about were 15 year olds on TikTok. 1 1
Mtjjproducer Posted January 20 Posted January 20 She was a fad. I saw it coming from a mile away. That ringtone ass song royals. Team was good though. Homemade dynamite was good. 1 3
Tylerbv Posted January 20 Posted January 20 People exploded after hearing the masterpiece that is Ribs, so there were less people to buy her albums moving forward. 2 2

Solaria Posted January 20 Posted January 20 She's over until she gives us Melodrama 2.0. We want the exact same album but repackaged. No minimalism only synths and heartbreak THANK YEW. 3 1 1

Like Tori Amos or Marina oh wow that’s an interesting take tbh if the only era Marina was happy was truly Love + Fear, like I’ve been theorizing, then you honestly might be onto something… as for Tori… yeah I mean I don’t think she was quite in a happy mindset until her fifth (? still getting into her, correct me if i’m wrong but that’s my initial hunch) album and that might play into something
