Kayseri Mantisi Posted January 20 Posted January 20 (edited) Nothing went wrong. Let's just discuss what went wrong with Billie Eilish stans today because that's more interesting to see after how whole Billie fanbase moved when people mentioned Lorde is Gen Z therefore she is more impactful than Billie Eilish. Think pieces and mental gymnastics came to impact to try to prove Lorde isn't Gen Z, by the same Billie stans. Her career isn't fading or distant. Her recurring streams are really good compared to her peers. Has 22 Million monthly listeners on Spotify, after apparently dropping "worst album of all time" (according to ATRL) in 2021. Her 10 YEAR+ old song which changed the pop scene is still doing 600K+ daily on Spotify. That's even bigger numbers compared to some MPGs if we take the fact the song is older than 10 years. Recently the same song became the most certified track in RIAA history, tying Mariah Carey. About the Solar Power, it's OVERHATED. Especially in ATRL. It was my favorite album of 2021, I still listen to it, it has one of my favorite songs from her in it, and i'm not saying these because i'm a Lorde stan. If you don't see any people that like it on ATRL, that doesn't mean it's the same for the whole world. When she gets to have many great new albums in her discography in future, people will look back on this album and call it "underrated". So she is not fading at all, and Solar Power is okay. Y'all should notice that I haven't talked about Melodrama at all so far in this thread, one of the best albums of ALL TIME, which is something Billie will never be able to recreate or achieve of. About L4, it will be an another album of the decade. She completely ditched Jack Antonoff (first alt girl to do it) and she is coming up with a brand new sound. Just wait and see. These threads will look SOOO funny when she finally drops that new album this year. Edited January 20 by Kayseri Mantisi 6 6 6 7

illia Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Nothing went wrong. Artists MUST take risks in order to have artistic and musical growth, and the fact that her latest risk wasn't loved by many, doesn't make her over or a "distant memory". 6 4

Blue Monday Posted January 20 Posted January 20 (edited) Nothing? Anyone who thinks she was going to be a main pop girlie or something was fooling themselves. Royals was a mega smash with Team being a nice follow up hit, but she's always been an art not the charts kind of artist. Solar Power was divisive but you're already starting to see people reassess it, not to mention she has some pretty decent streaming numbers for Pure Heroine and Melodrama (the latter being one of the defining albums of that decade btw). Her next album will probably course correct and be more upbeat than Solar Power, but even if it doesn't at least she can take stock in the fact she's always done what she wants to pursue artistically, not to mention she's revered as one of the most talented and interesting artists of her generation. Gorjesspazze9 Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Nothing. Teenagers grow up, and that’s what her music spoke to the most
