GiftFromGod Posted January 19 Posted January 19 They were big across Europe, Asia, and Australia during their peak, but they never really made it in North and South America. To this day, they are able to tour arenas and stadiums in Europe, Asia, Australia, and even Africa.

OrgVisual Posted January 19 Posted January 19 (edited) ABBA (album-wise)? Well, it just shows how difficult it is for non-American acts to become successful in the US. But who cares if you are relevant in any other parts of the world Edited January 19 by Sept
Daddy Posted January 19 Posted January 19 6 minutes ago, May said: my mum liked them This. They're forgotten for a reason.

Mordecai Posted January 19 Posted January 19 They're not bands but same goes for Robbie Williams and Kylie (though tbf they both had a hit or two each but it never lasted beyond that). The thought that they're non-existent in the biggest music market in the world despite being HUGE is so odd

They just did a tour in China. 22 minutes ago, MattieB said: They're GODS in Africa and the Caribbean. I had no idea they were big there. This is shocking to me Westlife were big but their absent and lack of activity in music killed their legacy. They probably had the biggest peak for an artist in Asia.

I'm Irish and I forget about Westlife's existence sometimes. 1

They famous outside UK, especially in Asia, they easily touring stadium there, they just finished 11 arena-stadium shows in China few months ago. If I remember right they sold at least 60M records worldwide.
dussel_06 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 (edited) They’re gods in antarctica also. Edited January 19 by dussel_06
What_A_Mess Posted January 19 Posted January 19 FYI Westlife is a boyband. That’s different from a band they are forgotten for a reason 1 1

They were bigger than BSB.

Brikenbur Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I think they were featured on the Abercrombie playlists back in the day
Keeandga Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Westlife are one the most bland, bands I’ve ever had to trouble of coming across.

The thought that they're non-existent in the biggest music market in the world despite being HUGE is so odd RW in particular has sold over 75 million albums outside the US - which is not only HUGE, that's legendary. It's basically Briteny level - but without the US.
EarthJang Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I used to play them all the time as a kid, the memories I was really shock when I learned that Backstreet Boys and NSYNC are so much bigger than them
popmusicisdead Posted January 19 Posted January 19 they were huge when i was growing up. i would say they were bigger than NSYNC or BSB here locally because they were very ballad heavy and you know how much Filipinos stan ballads 2
chiliam Posted January 19 Posted January 19 They are legend in South East Asia, while NSync is non existence over here. BSB is known and loved though. 1
