But he is our best bet. Someone would’ve emerged by now if anyone better was out there. President Biden’s support is unrivaled by any other Democrat.

If people like Williamson were serious about stopping the dangerous Republicans, they’d rally for Democrats instead of adding to negativity that is unhelpful.

Yes, because the Democrats performed well during the midterms and they are expected to win back the House in 2024.

Biden is still popular within his party expect for the far-left. Biden should pull a Keir Starmer by appealing to the center-right and completely dropping the far-left (instead of trying to appease the far-left to no avail). The fact that 70% of Nikki Haley voters are willing to vote for Biden in 2024 is a positive sign for him. He just needs to end his futile attempts to pander to the far-left (which will hate him more than Trump no matter what he does).

How does the far-left hate Biden more than Trump? If anything, the far-left are the ones who will actually still vote for Biden out of fear of Trump.

The Democrats have tried their best not to have a primary contender against Biden! Are you joking? :skull:

I mean the thing with Biden’s strategy is try to appeal to centre-right people who may historically been more Republican even, but do not like the Trumpian direction.

Thereby, Biden is assuming the voter base on the further left will still vote for him considering he’s the lesser evil compared to Trump.

I personally do like Marianne more, but I can also see the Democrat strategy.

It’s actually true, and she definitely should say it!

I don’t get why we’re in here pretending that a better candidate would have “emerged by now” or could magically appear before us when the Democratic Party basically refuses to have an actual primary of any kind based on the unproven assumption that the incumbent is always the best choice. The fact that people can legally declare candidacy does not change the fact that the entire Democratic establishment, all of mainstream media, and most state and local parties would treat them as a joke even if they were literally the perfect candidate to beat Trump and had the power to fix the whole country with political and economic pixie dust. Just look in here - Marianne being mocked as a “loser” and her polling numbers being cited, and for what? For calling out the problem?

You can’t squeeze blood from a turnip; you can’t get Democrats to run on a consistently winning platform when they know they’re actually better off being the “underdog” out-of-power party, or at most barely scraping by with a measly electoral lead and virtually meaningless margins in the Senate and House. That’s also why they run with center-right candidates and policies - it’s a self-defeating strategy that keeps them, and us, in perpetual limbo where incremental “progress” and stasis and stagnancy are the name of the game.

Marianne knows this is a circus clown show and isn’t afraid to say it, but I’m afraid she’s probably all too aware that she’s actually powerless to stop it in the end. The DNC will have its way with all of us, one way or another.

Can we call this a good strategy, though? It’s alienating young voters and simply not working.

No "better candidate" is gonna be allowed to " emerge" because that is the whole point. To keep the status quo. Republicans want to destroy the country, current Democrats want to keep it as it is without fixing anything. It all leads to the same result, different path.

Stop lying. Democrats have been trying to pass the legislation most Americans want, but it’s always blocked because of people like you who refuse to show out and let Republicans control Congress.

Chill the **** up. I am not even from the US, nor do I live there. If you still believe this fantasy to feel secure in your mind that any of these people really care about your well being, then I am sorry to tell you that it is not the case and never was. Having said that, I would still vote Genocide Joe so no Republican wins ever again, but I would vote KNOWING what they truly are and it sucks big time. What kind of democracy is that?

Not all of us live in blue states.

I mean only time will tell, but a different strategy that would potentially secure the youth vote best probably wouldn’t fit the status quo, and we all know the Democratic party does not want to challenge the status quo.

Reminder that Republicans voted for Trump more in 2020 than they did in 2016. This strategy is demonstrably a losing strategy.
