Today i had to get a steroid shot in neck for herniated disks. I had to take off shirt and lay down. Even though im a guy i feel more comfortable with female nurses or doctors. I dont know why i prefer them to male doctors. Anyone else?

No, complete opposite for me.

Yea absolutely. It’s the mother figure thought process

No I don't think there's a difference for me

I’ve been treated just as poorly by female doctors and nurses as I have by male ones… I really just dread going to the doctor no matter what

I prefer male doctors and nurses tbh. They’ve always seemed a bit nicer for the most part ngl.

I do prefer female doctors, but I love male nurses, but not in a fetish kind of way. My experience with female doctors have always been great and they're super nice and don't give off any creepy vibes. Male nurses because they're usually cute, especially the Filipino nurses:fan:

Honestly can't say I care either way.

idc i hate all doctors tbh

I don't care the gender, but I prefer they look at me when they're talking rather than at the clipboard.

For some reason, even if it's just practice/habit, it feels transactional and then I start worrying about my safety.

No I prefer men especially when it comes to health issues. I feel men will be more understanding compared to women with any issues I might be dealing with.

When I'm at the doc I usually want to die and so it does not matter much to me whether the grim reaper is male or female

The most relatable post in this thread :lmao:

But tbh, in my experience, doctors dont matter male or female, but male nurses are often nicer. I feel like they are more gentle and polite, not in a sexual/innuendo way.

Honestly in my country most of the doctors are female and this is sad for me because I like men

No, I prefer to be attended to by male employees overall tbh, I've had bad experiences of girls being mean to me.

I mean yeah I think there's like science behind it, it's also why they tend to choose female voices in voice assistants.

I feel like male doctors are more judgemental, maybe the people here who prefer them don't have to deal with old male doctors. I'm always scared of being clocked for being gay :deadbanana2:I'm currently having the worst time communicating with a male dermatologist who doesn't understand why I as a guy would even care about my appearance.

As therapists, yes, I prefer women for I feel they are more empathetic and understanding than men by default (though it’s not always the case). As doctors/nurses, idc as much… as long as my insurance is covering what needs to be done.

Honestly if they are good at their job, gender is irrelevant.  Saying one gender is more X just means the stereotype exists, but professionaly, if being more X makes you a better doctor or nurse, then I'd expect both good male and female professionals in that area to have X character trait.

If I have to expose my genitals I'd rather a male doctor but I've never had that luxury, it's always a female:rip:
