even if this song ends up becoming a full on flop, it still benefited him by bringing his name attention again after two years of irrelevancy.

now that he has the GPs attention, he can rebrand and release a smash.

This entire release has been so embarrassing to witness… him getting Terri Joe to promo him just screams “HELP ME!!!!” :rip:

Also not him referring to communion crackers as “Jesus blood and bones or something like that”

that just proves he doesn’t even know what he’s talking about and he’s doing it for attention :clown:

I’m not religious at all but that part took me out. 😂 He has no idea what he’s talking about.

Why can’t he just take the hint and go away? It’d be one thing if this were someone talented you could take seriously, but the music industry would not be missing anything if he were to be removed from it.  All this “he can rebound…he’s a hitmaker…” don’t you want more to spend your time checking for someone who… ya know…actually has redeeming qualities not just as a person, but as an actual artist, who you can see making it to album #5, #6, #7…and onwards? It’s like stanning a parody artist like Weird Al.

i think he should've jus kept quiet about da video and released it

for da song to be jus ok

he overhyped da video

Oh you must not follow much black media. They've been coming at him for a few weeks now. The song itself didn't really cause any controversy though

Yeah I mean he only has one of the biggest Billboard hits this century and his last era produced two #1 smash hits and another top 10 but fine. I'm not interested in going back and forth arguing semantics. Point is he has proven he can make a catchy hit, it will not surprise if he lets this blow over, comes back freshly rebranded with the right song and smashes.

So what? Macklemore had some huge #1s and few hits then faded away… and many other artists. To say he has some hits under his belt is one thing, but to call him a hitmaker  that’s a different story

call Rihanna or Katy Perry hitmakers as you have the stats, but not Lil Nas X.

Communion represents the blood and body of Christ as a metaphor

The point was that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about :rip:

now mizgirl I watched one video of conservative Ben Shaprio reacting to the video and since then the YouTube algorithm has been recommending like 40+ videos of people outraged about the video. There's definitely been outrage.

I like him but I need him to actually make the music great first and foremost, then do whatever you want but the music needs to be good at its core.

this was too similar to his past eras

inalso dont think he has a point in his video this time

Why does he sound so serious jfkd

He’s probably stressed after the bomb

I can't take an artist seriously whenever they start apologizing for their artistry, especially when they can't even express themselves effectively. It raises the question of whether or not they truly even understand the background of whatever they're talking about and addressing.

It was poorly thought out and conceived in what seemed to be a desperate attempt to create a shocking moment that would promote itself and give him attention. I really wonder what he thought was going to happen, or if he expected a positive response. It's not even shocking, at this point, all he did was just piss people off. It was so crassly done, it's no wonder why he's receiving backlash for it, with no real message or meaning to even speak of.

I was rooting for him, but he should have focused on creating a solid body of work—as opposed to that type of fodder, leaning on controversy rather than talent that's been in question recently.

He was getting dragged pretty bad for it tbh. I feel like it's actually mature to apologize, like he said he can act unfazed and unbothered but that's just not the case. It's not 2011 anymore, like Gaga got away with it with Judas but it's diff now, you have to apologize and own your sh*t these days, people demand transparency from celebrities and rightfully so.

There's a weird thing going on with LNX and the amount of self hate gays are projecting on to him (Not saying you're doing that OP -- just stating in general) or maybe this is just his backlash MPG era but the people on the sidelines cheering and jumping up and down with glee at a MAINSTREAM MALE GAY POP STAR's downfall is so bizarre to me. Don't be fooled girlies, yes it's 2024 but bigotry and homophobia is real and alive.

I have a feeling this 'apology' is also a gimmick in a way :rip: You never know with him
