They meant in comparisons to Barbie’s themselves

There's a plethora of Ken dolls plaguing the Barbie doll aisle the past few years. He's not a side character and hasn't been in decades.

Not defending the track

But the hate and mostly self-hate here for men is absolutely insane :deadbanana2:

Creating threads over a male winner, as if 50% of the world isn’t male :deadbanana2:

This forum gives mental asylum sometimes

This is best song for media. This has zero to do with sounding the same. Please be serious

it's gonna win the Oscar

The song is pure CAMP and I don't hate it, but yeah if the only male song from a supposedly feminist movie about BARBIE wins... :rip:

I wouldn't really put it past the Academy though. Billie deserves this 100% but I'm not sure if they'd give her a 2nd Oscar this soon. But then again, Mark Ronson also won recently in 2019 for Shallow.

What a joke

Great thing critics aren't the ones voting at the Grammys and Oscars :celestial4: They've already made their stance clear on this category with him practically sweeping the regional awards so idc, even Greta is always looking confused as hell when this song wins anything

If they weren't going to give it to Billie, at least give it to Dua who is not only actually a woman but who's song was an actual hit and put up a decent campaign. Ronson did practically nothing and this song's award run is becoming another case of opportunities and accloades being thrown at privileged white straight men for doing the bare minimum

The Academy will give it to Billie.

The fumes in here :rip: I'm Just Ken is a great song too, and rightfully acclaimed. Billie is winning her share of awards, too. I'm not sure people really understood the purpose of Ken in the movie

Ryan Gosling didn't write the song, he just sang it. Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt get the award.

Anyway, Billie is probably still winning the Oscar; why is everyone fuming? The Critic's Choice is hardly a prestigious award and they aren't really indicative of who will win the Oscar. If you take a look at how much they nominate, they really try to be predictive but don't hold much sway when all is said and done.
