Erreur2 La Nature Posted January 14 Posted January 14 (edited) Every popgirl faces some weird ass criticism on ATRL. Anything can be used as an attack. Everyone has a personnality but a different one that's based on their personnal experiences in life and if someone is dumb enough to bully Mrs Lipa who's a smart, discrete and elegant woman, I feel sorry for him and his soul for not seeing it. She has a very specific European sound that a lot of other female artists are unable to pull off. It's the whole reason why she escaped the Bebe, Anne-Marie and Rita Ora tier and received acclaim for Future Nostalgia. No... She's "just" the leader of the pack. The Katy Perry of euro-pop, if you will. People don't listen to Dua Lipa because the music is full of personality. They listen to her, because she delivers bops. She's basically this generations Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry, in my opinion and there's nothing wrong with it.
Kodak Energy Posted January 14 Posted January 14 The Dua of today is quite different from the Dua of 2017-2018. She has really grown as a pop star, her promotion improved, her performance skills got better and she grew into her personality. Her tours look amazing now. I don’t think she’s as unique or funny as people like Doja or Billie. But she’s mature and charismatic in her own way.
glacier76 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Dua is also an avid reader. I think it’s correct that she does not possess the high-octane personality that is normally associated with famous pop musicians (especially the ones that establish success in the US), but she most definitely has a personality. It is that same personality that allows her to take in very public criticism for self-improvement instead of lashing out. 1
CottageHore Posted January 15 Posted January 15 What exactly are people expecting from her? To do back flips on stage and run around town with clown makeup on? She’s charismatic in interviews, very well-spoken, and classy. Just because she has a more understated personality, doesn’t mean she lacks one. ODHs stay ODH’ing
