Solaria Posted January 14 Posted January 14 ODH love to say that Dua has zero personality and is incapable of showing any emotion and is nothing more than a label puppet and playlist fodder. Yet she's very politically outspoken, she continues to be THEE MPG speaking up for Palestine, the mining in Congo, the EU is collabing with her. What went wrong for this fabricated lie made up by bitter ODHs? 1
KatyPrismSpirit Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Yes and no. People still have this perceived judgement of her having no personality because her debut era kinda came across as "manufactured" in a way. It didn't always feel organic. But if you listen to her podcast and follow her on social media / watch her interviews, you will discover she is actually very socially aware, intelligent, talks with class and has a fun aura. People that still say this just don't care enough to make the effort to actually hear what she has to say.

She did a lot of interviews during DL1 era she revealed tons about herself

Zefierce Posted January 14 Posted January 14 So you’re saying someone with no personality is incapable of supporting Palestine?

There wasn't active pr to make her a household name like there was with Billies debut for example. 2
Strawberry Bubble Posted January 14 Posted January 14 People tell bigger lies in here, but she definitely has personality and charisma.
Raptus Posted January 14 Posted January 14 (edited) Endless summer vacation is not a personality trait. It's a Miley Cyrus album. Sorry. Edited January 14 by Raptus 2
Gelato Posted January 14 Posted January 14 you're 100% right, sadly I'm out of reactions for today so can't show my appreciation

Based on the few interviews I've seen, she is a very likable and well spoken person. However that doesn't come across as memorable, and personality is something about someone others remember (being funny, saying controversial things. etc) 3

Bosque Posted January 14 Posted January 14 How does her very lightly speaking out for Palestine without taking any particular action (which is literally the default position for any person her age who doesn’t want to get shunned by their liberal friend group), and speaking out against Apple’s supply chain after purchasing an iPhone 15 imply any sort of personality on her behalf? Now that I reread that she sounds pretty much like the average white liberal on this forum

Jay07 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 No one doubts she's a nice person and her politics are in the right place. What people are saying is that she has no discernible artistic identity or celebrity profile to make people latch on. But honestly, I would take a nice, inoffensive person than a professional troll like Lil Nas X. 3
Laura Palmer Posted January 14 Posted January 14 The haters will cling to anything in order to detract, poor them.

Now that I reread that she sounds pretty much like the average white liberal on this forum We all know celebrities do the bare minimum. So I'm holding Dua to the standard that we know exists. She's actually a few inches above that standard considering a lot of her peers have not said a single word about Palestine or Congo. So again, in the realm of popstars being socially aware and active, she shines in that department. Part of her personality is putting value to these causes and spreading the word. How does that NOT imply that she has personality?
Schami66 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Wait... She has personality. Her music doesn't. I think it's important to know the difference. 3

That's literally the 1 thing she constantly gets praised on, taking all these pop influences and turning them into quality bangers. So that's definitely not true.

I never understood this point. It's very clear what she's going for with her music. She has a very specific European sound that a lot of other female artists are unable to pull off. It's the whole reason why she escaped the Bebe, Anne-Marie and Rita Ora tier and received acclaim for Future Nostalgia. 1
burninredhot Posted January 14 Posted January 14 (edited) I hate agreeing with you but yes it's a big lie. Also some members call her faceless which is another big lie cuz i know alot of people irl still listening to future nostalgia and call themselves fans Edited January 14 by burninredhot

She hasn't been faceless since 2021.
