KevinKDC Posted January 14 Posted January 14 First time when living in 3rd world country is beneficial to me. No ads *****
TaggedGalaxy Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I haven't run into any issues yet using uBlock Origin and Firefox
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted January 14 Posted January 14 My laptop is slow regardless so YouTube can suck it, I’ll keep my adblocker on

I don't want to pay $13 for all the other nonsense I get, just let me pay like $3-5 a month for an ad block feature and/or background play.
Dante Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Lord i was losing my mind, cleaning my laptop memory and deleting stuff yet only YouTube was acting up so it made no sense, thank you for clarifying.
Illuminati Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Susan wasn't pulling stunts like this back when she was the CEO
HealerKirby Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Oooh so this is why it has been so slow the last few days well I can get Youtube Premium for like 2 dollars/month (family plan) where I live so I guess I will pay for that

Still have to suffer through so much in-video sponsorship crap (I got so close to ordering some god damn athletic greens but mercifully found a cheaper alternative). Pay up girlies.
Komet Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Bootlicking for a multi-BILLION company is wild anyway I'll use ublock origin even harder now 4
Afterglow Posted January 15 Posted January 15 (edited) I hate the ads, and was pissed when this was happening to me that past few days. I eventually tried disabling ad block and it works like a charm. Disgusting of them tbh. I have anxiety and use YouTube to calm myself by watching relaxing resort walk-through and travel videos with calm music, and they interrupt every 5 minutes with loud commercials literally about fleshlights... like what? If you're gonna show commercials at least have them slightly relate to the video style being watched. Edited January 15 by Afterglow
Alldeezy Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I pay for fuckin youtube and it's been slow for me Just because I have adblock on but it shouldn't matter if I have a premium I was wondering why its been extremely slow for me I was blaming my internet service
Witchpop Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Firefox and uBlock Origin don't have this issue. Youtube is blazing fast for me and any time Youtube updates their ads, uBlock is right there within hours with a fix. Youtube won't ever win but it's fun to watch them try 2 2
Dialamba Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I don’t mind ads but ads every 5 minutes you can’t even watch a 10 minutes videos without ads. Why would I pay 13$ for a greedy corporation Mind you the audio quality is ****
MasterExpose Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I figured it was that. Mine would slowdown almost like freezing and sometimes videos playing would stop midway black screen as if there was supposed to be an ad there but wouldn't play. Still no turning it off

It’s extremely expensive to host video, and it’s well within Googles right to clamp down on ad blockers, even if it’s personally inconvenient for me as I don’t pay for YouTube premium god yes please will someone please think of the 200+ BILLION DOLLAR revenue company. how will they ever afford it 1
Kiel D-01 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 (edited) Y'all, start using 'Remove AdBlock Thing' instead of the mainstream ad blockers. What it does is it still lets YT 'load' ads but get intercepted quickly. The ad will essentially interrupt the video you are watching by like 1 second at most. YT doesn't detect it because it's tricking YT into thinking that the ads get 'played'. I have been using it since YT started cracking down on mainstream ad blockers. It's only really effective when using YT however so I'd still recommend using traditional ad blockers such as 'AdBlock' for everything else. Just disable them for YT. Hope this helps. Kamil24 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 thanks for this thread. I had ads but now I got uBlock Origin
DamianSolo Posted January 18 Posted January 18 It's gross how desperately greedy these companies are, with ever-rising subscription costs just so they can give themselves these big fat bonuses.
Terylee Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I always copy the video link, paste it in the ATRL comment section, it embeds and I can watch it without problems. 1
