NumbSoul Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Honestly, both. There's some songs where I focus more on the production and then there's some where I focus more on the lyrics. Of course, it's the best when the song is serving in both aspects, but I think I am flexible and can enjoy different songs for different reasons.
Venice B Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Lyrics will stand out more for me tbh, rare are the cases I can enjoy music with bad lyrics. 1
Gov Hooka Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Music hands down. I mainly listen to instrumental electronic dance music anyway: prog house, techno, trance, DnB, tech house, industrial, etc. a lot of lyrics centered music imo more often than not has very mundane melodies… give me a soaring pop chorus with a cool catchy hook that uses several notes 1
GraceRandolph Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I’d say I’m more of a music person because I listen to orchestral and instrumental music, but realistically I like both.
nostalgic Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Both go hand in hand but generally the music is more important to me as a great instrumental can elevate even the most boring vocal delivery. Impressive/sophisticated/well-written lyrics are just an extra bonus.
sweetkiss Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I realized for a short period of time, I like music, but songs that last a long time (have yearly repeat value) are lyrics biased. 1
Summer Boy Posted January 14 Posted January 14 2 hours ago, TalkThatRihanna said: Production, vocals and melodies >>>> poems Also, to me, the music aspect is way more interesting, I can listen to songs in a langage I don't speak and I don't mind at all, as long as it sounds good! Lyrics can be a bonus, but they are not the most important part of a song for me.
