Daddy Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Because most gays will never follow the mainstream and are rightfully disappointed at the GP for making absolute trash famous. I call them the Kelly Clarkson/Ari gays. 1 1
dawnettakins Posted January 12 Posted January 12 True. Not to mention how out of touch af about how relevant artists actually are or how remembered some music is. Gaga is just one example, which there are many others. Atrl pretends as if she's over or something, constantly shading her and acting like her music is forgotten. Clearly don't pay attention to her Spotify numbers or have any actual friends irl because the public and GP stan her frfr and these gay nobodies on here cannot stand it
Orsay Posted January 12 Posted January 12 (edited) First of all having an opinion that strays from the majority =/= being out of touch with reality i think what a lot of you are getting at is that delusion is at the heart of stanning in general; part of being a stan is believing your fave is the absolute best and most successful in her field. So when that ceases to be true for some artists, many stans have trouble facing the facts Edited January 12 by Orsay
Orsay Posted January 12 Posted January 12 2 hours ago, Dante Silva said: It’s simply about gays and straights having separate nuances in context of their musical and sometimes cultural influences. A pertinent current example being that straight U.S. radio jocks supposedly have a WhatsApp chat and have come to the conclusion that the current Ariana single is out of step with their musical agenda and ‘bro’ culture. I think there is something to this actually, gays had a lot more cultural influence and sway in the era many of us allegedly stuck in - in the 2008-2013 time frame the kind of mindless upbeat dance pop bops that gays eat up were able to smash with ease, it’s a lot harder now and that genre of dance pop from female artists is largely scoffed at by most straight people, female musicians now have to brand themselves as serving some kind of deeper artistry (whether or not there is actually any deeper artistry -idk!) 2
sourprint Posted January 12 Posted January 12 the average atrler looks like shane dawson so what would you expect from a hag 2
cOe Posted January 12 Posted January 12 What ATRL doesn't account for is that a song with tons of haters AND tons of listeners (e.g. Unholy) are going to become hits
ThisNihilist Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Something about this site is telling me its not gay guys with all these bad opinions
UnusualBoy Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I don't think they're out of touch, they just let their emotions get in the way so if they don't like something they think everybody around them won't like it either and so.
