Venice B Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I've listened to the song one single time and it sounds a lot similar with another song I can't pinpoint but idk if it's Vogue, maybe it is
Raptus Posted January 12 Posted January 12 (edited) Sample? Gurl, the whole beat/production sounds like Vogue If Madonna didn't love Ari so much she could sue her ass Edited January 12 by Raptus 1 1
Aaron Posted January 12 Posted January 12 (edited) It wouldn’t be the first time gays kept calling something a “sample” even though there’s literally no credits or proof whatsoever It’s like when Ariana stans kept saying West Side sampled Aaliyah or Taylor stans saying LWYMMD sampled that Mean Girls song. The vibes are similar and that’s about it Edited January 12 by Aaron
Pheromosa Posted January 12 Posted January 12 yall really can't hear the interpolation in the chorus especially? 1
John Slayne Posted January 12 Posted January 12 2 hours ago, ScorpiosGroove said: we’re not talking about that bc one’s an interpolation and supposed to sound like vogue while the other one is… well let’s just call it creatively appropriated and that's fine, Ari is free to be inspired the point is Ariana's song doesn't credit any of Vogue's original producers as far as I know even though the similarity is a lot more obvious.

swissman Posted January 12 Posted January 12 There's a clear and definite interpolation throughout the instrumental. 1
Komet Posted January 12 Posted January 12 The drum beat is similar but throw a rock in the early 90s and you'll hit dozens of songs with the same beat. Vogue itself sounds a lot like that Janet Jackson remix, if anything they sampled that. But nothing's in the credits anyway so there's no sampling in the song.
Bencharmer Posted January 17 Posted January 17 When you check the instrumental version, you can definitely say they took the major elements from Vogue (the piano, the bassline, the beat....) but with a different melody.
MattieB Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Yall will really exhibit wilful incompetence so your faves stay out of the line of fire LMAO

Stankonia Posted January 18 Posted January 18 OP is right. There is no sample or interpolation. The Shep Pettibone sound existed before Vogue. In fact according to Shep and his collaborator Vogue was inspired by a Janet Remix they did. Quote At that time the remixes we were doing were so well received we were often asked to remix each song as it was going to be released. With Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation we remixed all seven singles, the first was Miss U Much and if you listen to the club remix of that song that we did you can hear much of the inspiration for Vogue, just listen to the drums and bassline and you will see what I mean. Sometimes things you do for a remix are too good to only be heard in a club. 1 1
