Yes Beyonce did.

But here's Ashanti doing it before 2008.

So many pop Stans in this thread have no idea what house music actually is. Please stop applying the genre term to dance pop (this goes to both Beyonce and Gaga fans-y’all both are dumb). Even more ridiculous is “ballroom” and house (often incorrectly) being used interchangeably. That ballroom sound is a very specific niche kind of subgenre among several within the House genre.

No. Your bey already borrowed Vogue narratives from madonna. So bey needs to pay the bill first.

Is anyone familiar with the genre House Disco?

We have had this genre at the forefront in the U.K. and Europe for years now. Dua dipped in a bit on it with Club Future Nostalgia and Gaga a bit with Babylon.

Renaissance on the other hand was created by sampling many many songs to create a ballroom vibe but is far far from actually being ballroom coded with the exception perhaps of BMS Queens Remix.

I’m sorry but no pop girl can be credited of bringing house disco upfront when it’s become quite mainstream for years out.

Ariana’s single isn’t ballroom. It’s simply a house influenced pop track. House isn’t ballroom.

I think it’s important for a forum about music, to know what these music terms actually mean.

The only proper responses to this dumb thread and the foolish responses in here.

Ballroom music? The new Ariana song sounds like 80s pop (it literally sounds like 3 Madonna songs) :deadbanana4:

This is ballroom music:

Which none of the girlies really touch upon except for Bey’s Pure

House music is literally an electronic track with a repetitive beat??? Chromatica is exactly that. It's embarrassing for a music forum to not know what house music is, let alone that house music is an umbrella term encompassing other sub-genres like electro house (Chromatica), disco house (Renaissance), deep house, acid house, the list goes on and on.

very rich to say when someone needed to jump at ariana and blackpink for collabs :rip:

OT: Yes! Beyoncé definitely made ballroom and vogue voices popular and ACTUALLY used their voices. I don’t see how chromatica would be that considering that was barely listened to.

Nottttt you saying Chromatica was barely listened to and comparing it to Ren when Chromatica outsold it :ahh:

It has not outsold Renaissance.

Chro: 3.6m (3 year old album with Ariana Grande and BLACKPINK inflation)

Rena: 3.6m (1 year old, only streaming units, no pure sales updated yet)

if it HAD to be any current artist doing this and if by ballroom you mean house (because if not then :rip: )  then wouldn't this be Calvin harris?

the irony of monsters calling Renaissance "cheap rupaul ass music" for a year straight but fighting tooth & nail to credit gaga for making said rupaul music a thing is so

Ari being on rain on me makes the conspiracy theories and victimization in this thread such a kii

Wait, why is everyone posting Chromatica? Because only Babylon is something I could see even remotely being close to ballroom house (maybe Stupid Love but.. idk). Rain on Me isn’t ballroom house, it’s just your 2012 track gay europop song.

But Babylon wasn’t a single and Stupid Love.. uhh. It was certainly the lead.

But that being said, I don’t think Beyonce really did either. It’s something that comes and goes depending on whether a pop girl wants to dabble or not.

I hate to comment so late in a thread with so much nonsensical discourse, but no. She didn’t bring it to the forefront, I give that credit to Pose, BUT it did manage to bring the ballroom community together in a big way via the tour.
