It only feels like that because she has no big smash ahead of the album's release tbh. In reality, no one from the GP is really perched for pop girls releases like stan twitter do. Once the album drops, people will be checking it because they're still here for her as proven by yes, and?'s huge streaming debut. Ariana's music has always relied on word-of-mouth so if the album is great and clicks with people, then there will be a lot of hype/noise surrounding it. TikTok being gone kinda sucks because Positions benefited a lot from motive/pov/69 instantly going viral, but we'll see. Edited February 28 by State of Grace. 6

I couldnt care less about vinyl variants personally. The reveals having a specific pattern was cute and all but we needed at least a performance of yes, and? Also the "suprise!!!" being a....Mariah remix was kinda anticlimactic because the song didn't even need one and it ended up being terrible. 1

We thought Positions was going to be her R&B/early 2000s sex-jam era and it ended up being mostly mid-tempo R&B lite. 5
