The random insertion of Taylor () on top of randomly dismissing her songwriting when some of the best songs on Positions were written by her like:

safety net wasnt written by her and song is not good if we look at the lyrics :clack:

every single thought is unfinished

We have the literal recording session of the only thing Leon had before she wrote to the production was "falling with no safety net", unless you're also expecting her to have written Ty's rap, as well? We literally hear the melody idea that she'd later go on to reuse for POV bridge in one of the melody passes.

The entire album's literal recording sessions are out there. We have clear indication of what she did not and, importantly, did come up with on her own and it lining up with the amount of contributing her producers and collaborators have always said she has. People who don't even listen to her not considering her a songwriter because it's not part of her branding are fighting a war in their own head.

:clack:

songwriting = lyrics

im not talking about melodies and singing because thats her forte

i just agree with user and a lot of fanbase that her lyrics are cringe

Again, we literally have hundreds of audio files of her singing melodies *to come up with and write lyrics on the spot in the booth*.

Saying you find the lyrics in Ariana Grande songs to be cringey (no one is going to force you to like the lyrics to song) =/= suggesting there's some now 'dip' in quality or that the lyrics are just now bad because you imagine she has some larger involvement that you (incorrectly) assume she didn't previously have.

The weird comments suggesting Ariana doesn't write any of her music on top of calling her immoral and a homewrecker is giving bait troll account.

i think her lyrics are fine. songwriting definitely isn't her strength (we all can agree on that) but she isn't awful at it either. it's not that she can't write, most of the times she just prefers to be more straightforward than poetic

and also... that isn't a bad thing either. thank u, next for example works so well because her lyrics are super simple and honest, and it showcases her vulnerability in a way few other pop girlies have. she said this new album is also very vulnerable and it'll be her first to have lyric sheets alongside the vinyls so i'm super interested to hear what she has to say

Can someone please make the “E” and “S” lowercase in the thread title? The album title is stylized in all lowercase.

Also, I saw her mention the vinyl has lyrics included. Does that mean the CD will too? She’s finally doing this :duca:

i didnt say she does not write her music, i said her lyrics are not good. good = introspective, interesting, showing growth.

saying 'why do you care whose dick i ride' is giving insta caption, not a song.

Edited to add: not everyone who comments on artist anything is a troll. That view promotes dictatorship and ass-kissing.

On a positive note.. i am happy she is trying a new sound and more involved in the writing & producing process!

Also the extended version is one of her best… i love that it’s 5 minutes long, one of her longest in a long time.

Also i feel like her team is doing kinda good… the song is still #1 in TTH but the radio is not it..

i think they’ll push it in radio closer to the album date, so it would chart longer.

however the visuals are a CHOP

sweetie, creating a melody is the most important part of songwriting

you can write all the words you want on a piece of paper but unless you have the melody to sing them, you don't have a song
