That album cover looks so corny and childish… not like a pop superstar One thing that always upset me about her is that she lets her personal interests intertwine too much with her art direction. We know that she absolutely adores the 1960s from a visual point. But it’s like, why is this the aesthetic for this album and Positions? Sonically, lyrically, and theme wise, the music doesn’t match the look. It’s like why the heck did we get a corny 1960s themed music video for 34+35? Why did she add that random scene from First Wives Club (one of her favorites movie) before “Be Alright” on the SWT? Why are doing the 1960s aesthetic again when we know the album is about healing, trauma, and it’s very 90s-R&B? It’s like, it don’t make sense. 4
siegetheday Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I love Ariana but the new cover...... One of the pics looks like she's getting ready to use the bathroom... (but still looking flawless)

wantedyoutogrow Posted February 7 Posted February 7 someone on reddit said that track 4 is an “intro” to track 5 and it’s less than a minute long

I mentioned this same thing about the Positions visuals awhile ago lol. I get she loves the 60's aesthetic but she referenced it so many times now it's tired. I appreciate a subtle reference here and there but it became overkill with yes, and? with the music video being a homage to Paula Abdul's "Cold Hearted Snake". It's pretty much the same video besides a few differences. I really enjoyed the video but I prefer she take it down a notch with the not-so-subtle references for the foreseeable future.
ariananext Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 Ngl I'm kinda over the habit of getting mad at her lack of effort. She isn't gonna do a perfect era, she's not going to give us great visuals, she's not going to promote, I've accepted it. I stan her mostly for her voice (even more than her music) so I just hope she performs and goes on tour in the next couple of years. I'm taking and appreciating what's good and ignoring what I don't like, I don't even care about charts like that anymore, she's not worrying why would I. Spoiler Thankfully Taylor, Dua and Abel in my stan list make up for her laziness 7
Jjang Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I know she said she wants us to experience the full album this time but I think the real reason why a 2nd single won't be issued in the upcoming month is because there are currently Wicked reshoots being done. They haven't completely finished yet.

Yes but tbh shes doing what Taylor is doing with her productions. They have been sounding the same since Lover/Midnights/TV 1989
Communion Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Me: *side-eyeing the idea of only 11 fully realized tracks after 4 years* Also me: *still wanting the below to make it onto the album* It's odd cause the 2022 material she was working on does all kind of have this new age pop-soul vibe to it that is 1) interesting compared to what is being released by pop girls and 2) would actually be an interesting fit for her. The idea of none of either of the above sitting on Max's hard drive unfinished while thus far we only have "yes, and?"...
