I also believe she just meant that some songs will playing different parts that people expect from her. Like "yes, and?" being automatically linked to the homewrecking controversy. Excited to see the rest

Well she started working on the album right when the news came out and she was getting dragged for weeks... I guess I interpreted it as "playing up the idea that people have of me"

See what a little promo can do? I appreciate the immense hard work that goes into creating the art but no one is going to promote the art but the musician and I just wish she made a little more effort in that area. It's not like a tv/movie release where other cast members or crew can promote in lieu of the lead talent. At the very least post more videos talking about the album like this to create that hype.

I immediately thought of the whole opposite. Aka some of her fans criticizing Positions and wanting her to go full pop. And that would explain the choice of YA as a single.

I don’t know, judging by her description I feel like she probably pushed him out his current comfort zone. It’s not like we’re getting 80’s The Weeknd or Conan Gray songs (I hope!)

I recommend everyone to watch the movie before the album drops. It's soooo good and emotional. This made me excited 

 

After hearing the album is vulnerable, I'm praying there's tracks reminiscent of imagine/needy/ghostin. I'd be so happy, her music is peak when she channels her emotions into music

watching the album pitch made me more excited for the album .. it will definitely be in the same vein of sweetener with more pop singles but the rest of the tracks will be more vulnerable or probably experimental
