P!NK2LOVE Posted March 8 Posted March 8 dwbua reminds me thematically of You’re Losing Me by Taylor. What is with these dudes
georgechxng Posted March 8 Posted March 8 (edited) this is her best album. her voice has never sounded better and i absolutely love the sound she went for and the themes/lyrics she explored thru the songs. we can’t be friends is fantastic. such a bittersweet song, it truly feels like the soundtrack for one of those romance movies where the couple doesn’t end up together but find meaning in what they lived in their relationship, she nailed that. paddii_ Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Her breakup albums are the best. Thank U Next and this are her best. Can’t stop playing this
ariananext Posted March 8 Author Posted March 8 This sounds nothing like any of her previous albums tho..
Sinister Posted March 8 Posted March 8 The Boy is Mine is flagrant, lyrically 😭 I love it but it’s more out of pocket than BUWYB,IB
frankvert Posted March 8 Posted March 8 wait for your love sounds more like Robyn’s Call Your Girlfriend to me but I love it regardless
TMRA Posted March 8 Posted March 8 I love how cohesive it is. The songs flow so well into each other, there isnt one song that sounds like it shouldnt be the there, even yes and doesnt jump too much from all the other songs. The sound landscape of the album is so mellow and dreamy, no big choruses and crazy vocal belting moments. She made the right choice of keeping album a bit shorter because if it had extra 5 songs in the same vein as the rest sound-wise it would get too repetative and would drag on 1
halcyonday Posted March 8 Posted March 8 this might just be her best album yours truly was a cute child project my everything is a collection of random bops so is dangerous woman but a bit more mature sweetener is 50% excellence 50% total garbaj positions was a bore tun was her best so far but this has everything we love about Ari
Acuminatus Posted March 8 Posted March 8 This album ended up being way better than I expected. Thank you Ari for pop excellence
Death & Decay Posted March 8 Posted March 8 It's not my favorite Ariana album, but it's really good! I'm surprised how much I like it. It's very mature. Top 3 for me: bye we can't be friends (wait for your love) supernatural Good job, Ariana! 1
halcyonday Posted March 8 Posted March 8 her mind to release it for spring... it def has the "the world is healing" vibe and i live for it, will be my playlist for the next 3 months for sure 1
kindararenext Posted March 8 Posted March 8 i’ll have to listen to it more times to fully form my thoughts but am i the only one who thinks the album kinda falls flat after yes and? everything that comes before is great though
RobDeWittBukater Posted March 8 Posted March 8 'bye' starting the album off with those bright, whimsical R&B Elusive Chanteuse vibes. 'supernatural' being blissed out pop PERFECTION. 'don't wanna break up again' marrying understated, introspective lyricism with gorgeous, gentle, sparkling melodies. 'true story' and 'the boy is mine' giving me the same feeling that I had when I first heard 'December' off the Christmas & Chill EP back in 2015. 'we can't be friends' being a pristine emotional throbber with an ethereal, 'ghostin'-like outro. 'i wish i hated you' being a shimmery, gorgeous piece of Imogen Heap-esque pop (she has been preparing for this moment since her Honeymoon Tour days!). 'imperfect for you' turning out to be an emo yet summery R&B-pop moment. This album ticks all the Ari boxes of me, it harkens back to so many of her previous projects and elevates her sound at the same time 2 1
georgechxng Posted March 8 Posted March 8 the official cover hits so much harder after we can’t be friends. “so for now it’s only me and maybe that’s all i need”
corotinho Posted March 8 Posted March 8 1 intro (end of the world) - 4/10 2 bye - 8/10 3 don’t wanna break up again - 8/10 (got me on the lyrics, cause it's kinda relatable for my personal life. Love it's lyrics) 4 Saturn Returns (interlude) - /10 5 eternal sunshine - 6/10 6 supernatural - 7/10 7 true story - 6/10 8 the boy is mine - 8/10 9 yes, and? - 8/10 10 we can’t be friends (wait for your love) - 7/10 (didn't find it the hit her team thought it was ) 11 i wish i hated you - 6/10 12 imperfect for you - 6/10 (the lyrics are good) 13 ordinary things - 5/10 () It's her weakest album so far. Didn't find ANY song on this album with a strong replay value. Actually there's no replay value on this album. Now i get what her team tried to do with ''yes, and?''. Is the strongest song on the album. The only interesting thing on the album 1 1 12
Trip Posted March 8 Posted March 8 the response seems overwhelmingly positive do we think she will smash on spotify
XXI. Posted March 8 Posted March 8 (edited) I really appreciate that each song builds on the next. I can't remember the last album I listened to from a pop star that truly tells a fluid story from start to finish. It's definitely a concept album. I'm happy she changed the artwork, because this new cover really captures the album's essence. Her best albums appear to come together quickly when she's heartbroken - thank u, next and eternal sunshine. Edited March 8 by XXI. 3

Dear Reader Posted March 8 Posted March 8 “no replay value” cut to me replaying this album since 6am 1 1
TaggedGalaxy Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Easily one of her best albums, my only complaint is that some of the choruses don't live up to the instrumental for their songs. We have some amazing build ups and instrumentals and the actual choruses are either too repetitive or don't match the energy of the song 1 1
Slate Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Her vocals have never been stronger. Her blend of pop and R&B has never been so seamless. Her artistic vision has never been so clear. Her writing has improved so much. The production is immaculate. This is a masterpiece So proud of her 8
chaeyonce Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Right off the bat, eternal sunshine, supernatural, true story, the boy is mine is an insane one two three four punch. I already loved yes and? so I went into this expecting to love the record Supernatural is my favourite and imo best track on the album. Track 5 through track 9 is very solid, some of Ari's best stuff ever, production, vocals, everything. Aside from that portion though, It's average...I'm pretty indifferent. Solid album - substantially better than her last three 7/10

The only interesting thing on the album no, because u're wild for the ordinary things slander.... ordinary things is so ******* beautiful - the ending alone from her grandmother and her giggle? the way it answers the question posed in the intro... it ties the whole album together 2
